Kai's POV

WHY WOULD I EVER THINK OF TRYING TO KISS HER?????

She obviously doesn't like me. That's why she left to talk with Nya.

Everything is going to be awkward between us now.

What if she doesn't want to talk to me again?

What if she thinks I'm weird?

What if-

My thoughts got paused when I hear a knock at my door I struggle to get up and I open the door.

It's Jay.

"Oh. Uh...hey, Jay." I say.

Me and Jay never really talk that much so this is a surprise.

"Hey. Nya kicked me out because her and Skylor are doing something 'important' and Nya made me come here." He says.

I let him in and I feel dizzy so I go to sit down on a chair aka a log.

"So..." Jay starts to say. "What have you been doing now that you're injured?"

"Nothing really except drinking a disgusting tasting tea." I say.

"Does Skylor take care of you?" He asks.

"Yeah."

"Aww, that's adorable."

"What is?" I ask.

"How much you guys care for each other."

My face goes red. "Shut up."

"You seem grumpy. Did something happen with you two?" He asks.

"Yeah...but you don't need to know."

"Yes I do. Tell me."

"No."

"Just tell me!"

"Okay, okay!" I finally give in.

"I...tried to kiss her but I moved away the last second and told her that she had something on her face." I whisper.

"Why would you do that? She obviously likes you. She's most likely upset now." He says.

"She doesn't like me. Right after our almost kiss, she went straight to Nya. Probably telling her how much of a weirdo I am." I say with a frown.

I'm never this open to people but I just need to let it out.

I love Skylor and I wish she loved me too.

"No, she's most likely telling Nya how much she wanted you to kiss her." Jay says.

"Stop joking around she doesn't want me to kiss her." I say.

"Uh, yeah she does. It's so obvious that she likes you. Don't you see the way she looks at you?"

"She sees me as a friend, I know it." I say.

"Then how come she tried to kiss you when we were leaving the tournament of elements?"

I blush. "That could've just been her trying to say goodbye."

"Stop acting so clueless! She likes you and you can't deny it."

"No she doesn't!"

"I can go on for hours talking about this." Jay says.

Just as he says that, Skylor walks back in.

"Kai, can I talk to you?" she asks me.

I blush. I know this conversation isn't going to go well.

"S-sure."
