Nova's POV:
God fucking dammit now I'm gonna have to filter my thoughts because he can read them.

Cmon brain focus on something stupid like mops or brooms or cleaning duties.

"Why are you thinking about brooms and mops? And cleaning duties" Vader asked.

"Uhhh jsut thinking about all the cleaning work I have to do!" I laughed nervously, tucking a piece of my cherry red curls behind my ear.

He stood up from his desk and walked a circle around me, looking me up and down.

"You seem to have made quite a name for yourself I see" he said.

I raised my eyebrow. This was one of these moments I decided to play dumb.

"The name 'cherry haired menace' ring a bell? It's one of the many nicknames for you circulating the galaxy"

My eyes widened. He knew exactly who I was

"Quite impressive actually" he continued. "Word in the street was you ran your bar like a crime syndicate"

"Correct" I nodded.

"For someone who was the head of a crime syndicate you're not as scary as the stories make you sound" he shrugged.

That rubbed me the wrong way.

"Well maybe I'd still be head of a crime syndicate if you didn't kidnap me and a decent chunk of my crew!" I snapped back. I realized what I had done because he had stood up and pulled out his light saber. He put the lightsaber to my throat. The red glowing death stick was centimeters from my neck. I could feel the heat radiating from it as I sat still, praying he wouldnt kill me on the spot.

"Let me say this in terms you'll understand. You might've been somebody in your little Tatooine bar but this, this is my territory. You're a nobody. I have the upper hand here. If you try anything stupid I'll kill you"

I nodded. He then put his lightsaber back on his waistband and sat back down.

"Good girl"

I wasn't sure why he said that but it had caught me off guard. It made me feel some kind of way. I felt as if there were butterflies in my stomach.

"Now since you have my respect I will let the fishnet incident slide, however if you give my stormtroopers or any of my generals any more problems I will deal with you myself, Nova Batista." he threatened me. "Also do not use Jedi mind tricks on my people because I will know"

In my old days I didnt play around and any threat to me was followed up by a counter threat and warning of my own, but looking back up at Vader and his towering figure I realized there were bigger fish in the sea than me.

"Leave" he waved his hand towards the door and I promptly got up and walked out of the door to see the stormtroopers who were going to walk me back to the staff sleeping quarters.

For some reason I couldn't get the fact that he said 'good girl' off my mind. It scared and excited me at the same time.

Darth Vader's POV:
I guess she must've forgotten that I could read her thoughts because I knew the last thing she had thought.

'For some reason I couldn't get the fact that he said 'good girl' off my mind. It scared and excited me at the same time.'

Or maybe she purposely wanted me to read her thought. Whats your game, Nova Batista?

Part of me hoped she would end up here again. From the day she had wished me good luck in podracing she had always been in the back of my mind. We were both kids. We were both innocent with hopes and dreams. Then life throws you a curveball and your path alters. I became an all powerful Sith Lord and she ran a bar like a crime syndicate. She knew how to make difficult decisions and did what she had to do which I admired about her.

Maybe we weren't so different.

Maybe I could make her my apprentice. Take her under my wing. Teach her the ways of the dark side. After all, she has a connection to the force.

Thinking about her was intoxicating. I couldn't put my finger on it but there was something about her that left me wanting more.

Nova, please do something stupid so I have an excuse to see you again.
