Steve's POV

"Where's Barnes and Tiny Rogers?" Stark sighs as he claps his hands together quietly

"Oh, I think I see-why are they walking like that?" Rhodey asks

"I have no idea." Nat shrugs as she speaks

My best friend and niece come walking into the room with terrified looks on their faces, automatically giving me the right to assume that they're scared of somebody in here.

"Go ahead and grab a chair." Tony waves to them

They go to the back corner of the conference room to my diagonal back right, allowing me to turn from Tony to my family with ease. I watch as they debate between several chairs then choose to share the one closest to the corner. Bucky keeps a straight face while his heart beats with anxiety as Sarah does the same, but with a less permanent expression on her face.

"Okay, this is a meeting to discuss the living situation of having Barnes and Sarah living here with us." Tony announces before tapping the table like gavel

Sarah and Bucky both flinch, but keep their eyes grazing over everyone in a monitoring manner.

"First off, is there anyone opposed to having them live here?" Tony asks

"It's not that i'm opposed, but Ms. Rogers and Sergeant Barnes both have very horrid backgrounds, especially together." Vision speaks up

"You think we don't know that?" Rhodey asks

"Well..they have histories to go after the good people of any nation, let alone this one."

"Do I have to ask it again?" the colonel retorts

Vision lets out a sigh

"Let's start out here. Barnes, did you ever choose to do what you've done?" Tony asks

I turn to Bucky, but he looks terrified and Sarah's reading him over.

"We're not getting into this." she speaks for him

"And why not? We should know this if we're going to be mutual residents of a building." I hear someone state

I turn to see Wanda being the one who asked the question.

"Okay, then let's start here. In May of 2012, when Loki managed to brain wash some of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s best and brightest, did they choose to be put under his control?" my daughter asks in retaliation

"Well no, bu-"

"Did they ask to be used?"

"No, bu-"

"Did they in any way-since some of these agents weren't Hydra's undercover brothers-signal they wanted to kill for a living?" she continues

"No, but-"

"Neither did we. Even so, the brain washing he underwent is far more gruesome than anything any of those agents went through under the control of Loki. Trauma is trauma, it affects different people different ways, it can ruin the best people and it can change the worst for the better, but that doesn't change that my caretaker was taken and forced to do what was done."

"And what about you?" she's asked

"You know exactly what I experienced, so I don't think much of the fact that you should be asking these questions as if you don't know the answers, nor how I am going to rephrase them."

"But you were not brainwashed." Vision points out

"How would you know? Your files only go to what my Godbrother has in his files, tough if you had Hydra ones..that wouldn't be good."
