Platonic:

Nothing is a greater offence to Marvin than rudeness and treachery. He grows infuriated if his friend has any bad stories about the people they have met or the places they have gone, and he promises that they will be much happier on Mars after he vaporises those miscreants. Whether his friend is present for it or he is simply talking to himself, Marvin hatches a plan to use the Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator to destroy their home planet.

If they happen to be a Martian, Marvin offers to aim his laser at whichever planet they like the least as a display of his technical prowess and willingness to support their pursuit of happiness. He declares that his friend shall find no better companionship than that which is supplied by himself, K-9, and other Martians who they encounter on Marvin's intergalactic conquests. Marvin then asks for them to stay on his spaceship and help him monitor the Earth creatures and claim new planets for Mars without end.

With the training of the Martian military at his back, he is not inclined to give second chances and is quick to blast someone with his laser pistol if they are blocking his path to his friend. Marvin does not consider his actions to be wrong or deserving of any more attention than eating and sleeping, so he freely admits his intent to vaporise whoever does not move aside or end their conversation fast enough. Mercy, a concept that is as foreign as it is shunned in Martian culture, is not an option once Marvin decides that a person needs to be incapacitated.

Romantic:

The Martians are a proud species who view all other forms of life in the universe as inferior, so Marvin has no trouble vaporising every creature that fails to meet his standards for how his partner should be treated and regarded. He expects his partner to adore Mars and urges them to climb aboard his spaceship to permanently relocate to the Red Planet. There are no doubts about the nature of his goal because Marvin sees no need to lie or conceal information, although he does keep mentioning how delightful it would be to show them to his queen.

Marvin struggles to see beyond his own views of a situation and assumes that his partner feels and thinks the same way as he does. The militaristic society of Mars has endowed him with a casual attitude towards violence and planetary devastation, which he sees as necessary to neutralise those who protest against the idea of him taking his partner to Mars and disintegrating their current planet on the way out. Marvin responds to anything that he deems a threat or insult to his partner with either his planet-destroying laser or his disintegration ray, even if the speaker is joking or being sarcastic.

As much as he claims to be peaceful until attacked, Marvin regularly obliterates stars because he enjoys the explosions and destroys planets because they obstruct his sight of another. His partner is invited to watch a class II Omega-sequence star get blown to dust from the roof of his spaceship, and Marvin treats the destruction of the celestial body as a memorable bonding experience. It also serves as a prelude to him talking about Martian victories and how their time on Mars is going to surpass every other part of their life, both in quality and longevity.
