‘HARRY WAS NOT AN INNOCENT!’ Ron shouted back.

‘Mr Weasley,’ McGonagall said severely. ‘That tone of voice helps no one. And Harry, whatever his parentage may have been was an innocent and should have been protected as any child was!’

‘HE’S HE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED’S SON!’ Ron shouted. ‘HE’S EVIL!’

‘Harry’s blood does not make him evil,’ McGonagall said sharply.

‘HE KILLED DUMBLEDORE!’ shouted Ron.

McGonagall sighed, ‘he did. In defence of himself and his unborn child after Dumbledore almost killed his lover and godfather after all the other traumas Dumbledore left him with. The truth is that Albus would not have died if he had left Harry alone. And I did nothing to help Harry even though I had suspicions about his upbringing. I didn’t look further into how much money Hogwarts was spending-‘

‘Dumbledore only took it to aid the war-‘Ron tried.

‘Mr Weasley, he took the money from the school, from the children, from you,’ McGonagall said sharply. ‘Dumbledore did a lot of illegal, a lot of terrible things. Things are not as black and white as I would like them to be. And I would highly advise you to keep your head down do what your guardians, head of house and lawyers tell you to do. I know you are going through a lot but if you are not to end up in the same situation as your sister you have to wise up.’

‘It’s not fair,’ complained Ron.

McGonagall just smiled sadly, ‘neither was what Albus did to Harry. But you have a chance to be better if you think.’

On Monday Draco slept in and then at one o’clock he made his way to Professor Sinistra’s office. Draco sat down and accepted the offer the tea and biscuits. Draco couldn’t help but look around the room which was a lot more welcoming and brighter than it was when Uncle Several was Head of Slytherin House. Partially, due to the fact that it was in the Astronomy Tower rather than the dungeons. But, partially due to the fact that there was a constellation of the night sky on the roof and splashes of blue and green rather than all black.

‘So, Mr Malfoy, how are you coping?’ asked Sinistra.
