Chapter 100 Meetings of a Legitimate and Not So Legitimate Nature

Babbling looked like she too was at a loss of what to say.

 

‘Honestly,’ Babbling admitted. ‘I don’t know. I don’t have the answers that you need.’

 

‘Then what good are you for?’ spat Ron.

 

‘To help you become a functional adult,’ Babbling said. ‘And ensure you get the best education you can. But you have not made it easy for yourself, so you have to do better.’

 

‘Sure, Professor,’ Ron said glumly.

After lunch Ron did what Professor Babbling had suggested and headed down to the Transfiguration classroom. Professor McGonagall was in the office attached to the Transfiguration classroom. Ron was relieved to see that she was still here as she had not been at lunch.

 

‘Professor McGonagall,’ Ron said urgently. ‘I need to talk to you!’

 

McGonagall nodded, ‘sit.’

‘They told me you were retiring at the end of the term,’ Ron began angrily.

 

‘That’s true,’ McGonagall said seriously.

 

‘They’re pushing you out because you ar-were close to Dumbledore,’ spat Ron angrily.

 

McGonagall sighed, ‘I resigned, Mr Weasley.’

 

Ron gaped, ‘why? Are they making you?’

 

McGonagall shook her head, ‘Dumbledore did a lot he shouldn’t have done. And I ignored it because I trusted him.’

 

‘DUMBLEDORE’S WAS A GOOD MAN!’ shouted Ron standing up and balling his fists. ‘IT’S ALL HIS FAULT! THE TRAITOROUS BASTARD AND HIS EVIL FATHER!’

 

McGonagall shook her head, ‘Harry was not to blame. Dumbledore hurt people, innocents-‘
