Chapter 18

I love the tournament idea. I'm not SURE who's going to win but it will be unfolded in this chapter.

Chapter 18

Later that day after Joel had left I felt sick again and Aiden ssat with me on the floor next to a bucket. "You get to do this for quite a while." "Wonderful." H muttered and I smacked his arm. We heard a knock on the door and a maid came in and told us the king had sen her to fetch us. "We're coming." We followed her to the court toom. "You refuse to marry Joel? I did you a favor by letting you live and you deny my greatest ally's son your hand in marrige." "I am already married and pregnant as well. Why does he want me?" "You look unusual to these parts and he likes it. The tournament in which Aiden will surely loose will be held tomorrow. Come here at 8:00 tomorrow morning." "Whatever. But Aiden is going to win. He's my MATE after all." With that we walked back to our room where Fury and Wendy were waiting. They shoved Aiden out the door and I sat down. They did everything possible in different ways with my hair and make-up. "You young lady have a date with Aiden." Wendy said shaking her finger at me like an old lady. We all burst out laughing and Wendy pretended to be offended and told us we needed to stop laughing like giddy young school girls and more like the woman we are supposed to be. We kept laughing and soon Wendy quit the charade and started laughing along with us. When they finally thought I was done getting pampered they opened the door to reveal a clean and very handsome Aiden. "Shall we?" He asked and held out his arm. I smiled and linked mine with his. (My mom just got back from the store with my bag of SKITTLES!!! YAY!) We headed to the orchards where there was a blanket and basket. I raised and eyebrow. "Charlie and Wendy planned the whole thing." I laughed and sat down on the blanket. Aiden did the same and opened the basket to see what was in it. He pulled out to chicken sandwhiches and a jug of water. I smiled and picked up the letter. "Think of it as the honeymoon you never had. Your friends, The pack." I read off. Me and Aiden talked and ate. When we were done we layed down and watched the sun set. Then we watched the stars. We drifted off to sleep on the blanket. We woke up when the sun started to get hot. I sat up and stretched. "O My Gosh! Aiden Wake up! The tournament!" He woke up and we raced off leaving the picnic behind. We arrived at 8 o'clock sharp. "Punctuality id very good in a man. And woman of course." the king added noticing my look. I nodded my head slightly and turned to see Joel standing there in full armor. "The tournament is to be a quest. Aiden shall take Charlotte with him and Joel may choose who he brings. You must go to the Mt. Lispan and retrieve the wild milun flower. The flower grows only at the top of the mountain. Whoever brings the flower back first wins. The mountain is a weeks ride from here. You must pass through many obsticles in order to reach it. You will be supplied with whatever you need. Please go to the armory and kitchen to gather the packs the maids and knights have prepared. Joel who do you chose to go with you?" "Lindsey Kohl." The king gasped. "Your taking a WITCH with you!?!?" "Charlotte is a witch so I needed to even the score." The king looked uneasy but agreed. In walked a girl of about 17. She curtsied to the king and the king looked very uneasy. 'See if you can find out why the king is so anxious.' I told Charlie who nodded slightly and looked slightly blank for a moment. 'She is a very well known witch from England. She is a powerful witch and has been sentanced 3 times but all three times she escaped before they could hang her.' 'I see.' "Very well. I will meet you in the courtyard when you are ready." The king announced and started walking away, well more like waddling. Me and Aiden walked to the armory and Aiden grabbed a sword. I already had mine tied around my waist. We then headed to the kitchen to get supplies. We got our bags with bisquits and cheese. We each had a jug of water and headed to the courtyard. When we arrived we found two saddled horses. Two cherry bays. I walked over. "I'm Charlotte. Who are you?" "My name is Juliette. It's a pleasure to meet you." "The pleasure is all mine." "You can understand me?" "Me and Aiden can talk to animals. We turn into wolves." "That is the weird smell."  "Well thanks." "I didn't mean it like that. You just smell different than the other humans." "I understand. May I?" "Sure." she said and I mounted her. I sat tall as we waited for Joel to come out. Just before we left Mae handed each of us a cloak. Aiden's was dark green and mine was dark blue. We thanked her and rode off. We each had a map. After riding for a few hours Juliette asked if we could stop to get a drink. I agreed and we stopped at the stream that runs through the forest. The horses, Julliette and Spartan, drank their fill while me and Aiden filled out jugs. Then we started off again. We reached the other side at noon. We began to ride through the feilds.We stopped and ate lunch. We chatted about random things and ate in peace. We saw Joel and Lindsey come out of the forest and head over to us. "It will be easier if we travel together until we reach the mountain." Was the only information they gave us we thought it probably was better if we traveled together. We started to ride north but changed direction slightly to north-east. We arrived at the slough of dispair in 6 hours time. We stopped 30 yards from it where the air  was still clear and there wasn't any fog. We layed down our blankets in the roots of a very large tree. We woke very early the next morning. I sat up and looked around, thie fire had gone out but other than that everything was as it should be. I got up and walked over to the fire. I tossed some sticks and logs that we had gathered yesterday. "Burn." they lit on fire quickly and I started to make some oatmeal. Before we left I had dried out some of the peaches from the orchard and now am cutting them up. I tossed a handfull of cut up peaches and added a little more water. I had gotten a small sack of oats from the kitchen on my way out. When it was done I began waking the others. Joel was gone and for a second I thought he had headed off to the mountain without us. "You are more and more to my liking." I heard Joel say, I whirled around and glared at him. "You should have told me you were there! I thought you left us." I turned on my heels and went to wake Aiden up. I kissed his forehead and he woke up quickly. He always woke when we touch because of the electric feeling we have when we do. The kiss was mainly to tease Joel. I walked over and woke Lindsey. "It's time for breakfast." "I'm up! I'm up!" She said and slowly got up. I walked over to the fire and poured some oatmeal into each bowl. We ate quickly but kept our eye on the swamp. "So we have to ride through there?" Joel nodded and mounted Julias his horse. We all followed his example and mounted our horses. Joel rides very well. You are more comfortable on my back though becausee your so light." "Thank you." I said laughing. Julliette is a very kind gentle horse. I thought very kindly of her. We headed towards the swamp and started walking through. "There's something in here." "What?" "I don't know but I can tell there's something in here." Julliette said. "I'll tell the others." I turned over to look at Aiden and told him. Then turning to Joel and Lindsey to find them missing. "Lindsey? Joel?" I called out hoping for an answer and getting none. "We should continue and get out of here quickly. They might have found a way out and headed off." Aiden suggested and we headed to where the light was coming from. When we arrived at teh outside Joel and Lindsey were no-where to be found. I made some water into a pool in the air, "Joel and Lindsey." I said and they slowly appeared into the water. They were galloping across a feild. I froze the water and threw it to the ground. "They left us." Then I thought of something and grabbed Aidens hand. "Take me to the top of Mt. Lispan." As soon as I finished we were at teh top of a mountain with a very beautiful view. I saw the plant and walked over to grab it when something hit me from behind causing me to stumble. I turned and got into fighting stance to see a dwarf standing there and another circling Aiden. "Stop!" I commanded the one with Aiden. It did and Aiden walked over to me quickly. "What do you want with the flower?" "A prince has commanded me to marry him but me and Aiden are already married. The only way we can stay together is if we get this flower to the king before he does." "I see. You have quite a story. You may take one blossom and nothing else." "Thank you...?" "I'm Krom and this is my friend Seelius. We are the dwarfs told to watch over the flower. We have one magic and can preform only one spell and that is the spell that we only hear honest things come from peoples mouths. What you said is the truth and I see that you are mates. Your love is strong and you are to be together." I nodded may thanks and walked over to Julliette and mounted her with the blossom in my hand. "Take me to the king's castle." I said and we appeared at the gate. The king was riding his horse and saw us. He looked very surprised that we were here. Aiden presented him the flower. "We have come with the flower. I will not marry Joel."  "Joel had Lindsey use a pool and announce that Aiden was dead. How is he alive?" "We were never in any danger. I have know clue why Joel would say such a thing." "You no longer have to marry him I suppose." I thanked him quickly before throwing my arms around Aidens neck and giving him a kiss. "We did it! I don't have to marry that arrogent fool." "I AM NOT A FOOL!" I heard Joel yell behind me. "How did you get here so quickly?" "Its a simple spell that any begginer could learn. Its called transportation. If you had chosen Wendy to go with you, which Taylor would never allow. You would have been there and back yesterday by 8:10." "How come you couldn't do this transportation spell?" "You never asked." She said calmly and turned to me. "You might need this." She said handing me a piece of paper. I unfolded it and it was a spell to send us to the future. "My grandaughter should go back to her time." "Grandaughter?" I asked but she had already left. "What did she mean by that?" Aiden asked. "I don't know. But we have a way to get back to the future. I went to get the others but they were waiting in the court room. I called them to me and they ran outside and we crowded in the hallway. "This is not our time, We wan back to where we came from, send us there." I said and we ended up in the academy lawn. "You did it!" Fury yelled and hugged me tightly. I saw the headmistress and ran over to her. "Where are our parents?" "In your appartment."  I thanked her and we ran to our appartment. I threw open the door and ran over to my parents along with Wendy, Fury, Charlie, and Drew. We were all hugged. I turned and saw that everyone of the kids from Aidens family were here along with Conner and Maggie. "Conner!" I ran over and hugged him. 'Must you put on such a show?' asked Aiden. Even mentally I could hear the light strain in his voice. I shot him a look and ignored the question. I hugged Maggie and then I was squished by my mother again. "A BABY!" She cried and hugged me tighter. Everyone's eyes went wide other than the ones who already knew. "OMG!" Maggie yelled just like Wendy did and ran over and hugged me. "It's going to be a girl. I can tell. I've always wanted a neice. Alexander and May have been having only boys!" She said and hugged me tightly. Tyler and Kyle ran over and grabbed my legs. "Are you going to have a baby?" Kyle asked. I think. Their identical. "Yes." They shared looks. I started to get slightly suspicious when Aiden started protesting. "No! You wouldn't dare Alex. Come on. I showed mercy on May." "You still did it." He said with an evil grin. 'What are they doing.' 'When a girl in our family gets pregnant they get thrown into a pool of chocolate. I have no idea where they get the chocolate though. My dad always shows up with it.' I put up may hands in surrender. "I want gummy worms instead of chocolate." I said. Alex smiled but nodded. Aiden was trying to hide his laughter but it was evident. "Don't worry it's not so bad. You get to eat as much as you want." May said and I laughed. "I love gummy worms so they better get it right. Sour ones." She smiled.
