Chapter 10; a kindled spark

Instagram and YouTube couldn't stop spreading rumours and talking about macei during the day. That was all the school talked about. They even tried asking the HHGs, but none of them gave them a straight reply.
The next day, they got to school but this time around, macei was with them. They sat in the car for some mins trying to convince macei that all would be well.
"Listen, macei, you can't hide forever. One day they'll stop talking," qua said.
"Yeah, and you still have your YouTube and TikTok. I promise we will get your Instagram for you," Mykel added. Macei wasn't buying their pep talk. She looked traumatised, she would melt if she had come outside,macei looked at her mom and said, "I want to switch to home lessons"
She got down and walked in slow motion. The looks she got from people were terrifying. People stopped talking while she passed them, while some snickered and pointed.  

She was on the verge of fainting when Isaiah came in front of her and hugged her."Calm down, macei, put yourself together," he whispered. She began sobbing, but he covered her and walked with her
"You're still Macei K, big rocket! people still look up to you, don't disappoint them" he consoled her. He escorted her to class, he and mykel surrounded her while they tried to make her lively again caused she seemed depressed

"Listen macei, don't listen to them, most people are haters," Mykel said.
"I'm so sad, I can't feel any better" she muttered and wiped her hot tears. Tiarra walked into the class and placed her bags on her chair, they were consoling macei right next to her. She found this as an opportunity to speak to  macei for the first time in her life.
"Heyy," Tiarra said to them. They glanced at her while Isaiah smiled,tiarra stood in front of macei and said"Macei, I'm sorry for your account, it's ok to be sad" she turned to mykel and Isaiah and said"You can't make her feel better by telling her not to" She said to macei again who wiped her tears "You laid your treasures too much on this earth and now you feel like you have nothing more, I might not have 2.7 million followers but God is enough and I know they can never hack Him" Macei raised up her head to pay attention to her
"It's okay to be famous but having God is amazing, I know you might feel like I'm preaching to you but you'll find out that I'm making sense sooner or later. Don't depend on all this stuff for happiness cause they'll let you down" She wiped macei's tears off her face and said"My mom will help you get your account back"

"Really?"Macei's face lit up. Tiarra nodded and smiled.
"Why are you being so nice to me, I've never spoken to you before?"Macei added. Tiarra began singing
"They say tee tee be evolving, how you be doing this thing?
 They say tee tee being steady how you be doing this thing?
 Wanna know how I'm doing this thing? God be on my mind keep telling me doing this thing"

Another reason for Isaiah to be impressed by tiarra including mykel.Macei was able to go through the day holding on to what tiarra assured her.

After school,macei waved to her family to go on without her, she followed tiarra home even though they didn't say a word on their way.
Tiarra knocked at her door and immediately her mom opened it and exclaimed"Macei K!" They got in while macei blushed,tiarra took a glass of milk and sipped"How do you know macei k and I don't?"Tiarra asked.
Her mom acted like a fan and asked"Do you need anything?"Macei smiled and nodded.
"She needs you to help her fix her account, remember I told you?"Tiarra replied. Her mom nodded and rushed out to the garage. they shared a glance and followed her. The garage was her mom's working space where she practised stuff,she had computers upon computers.
Macei pulled out her phone and gave it to her, she sat on the bench along with the tiarra while the mom began work, she spoke some computer terms but they weren't paying attention.

"Where's your dad?"Macei asked.
Tiarra felt gloomy but she smiled and replied"He's dead, I never got to see him"Macei placed her hands on her shoulder and said"My dad is dead too" Tiarra looked surprised"When did he die?"
Macei replied"when I was 6, I made a rap song on how I missed him, then I started rapping from then"
"Woah, your dad's death opened many inspirations for you"Tiarra replied.
"How do you feel being such an influencer?"
Macei shrugged and smiled"I feel good like I got a lot of people who have my back always, they love me and I worked hard for it"
They had a long deep conversation about their lives, a connection kindled then.
"What is your and Isaiah's relationship? I've been meaning to ask but never got a chance, "macei said. Tiarra blushed then her mom interfered saying"Same question I've been asking?!"Macei and tiarra burst into laughter.
"Mom, I've told you already! He's my friend"
"I'm surprised, you brought a girl today," her mom said again.
"Mrs Paris you're such a vibe"Macei exclaimed.

After talking and bonding for hours, she was finally done." Here you go, Big rocket" she said and gave macei the phone, the joy of opening her Instagram and seeing 2.7 million followers back was awesome. She hugged her mom and thanked her a lot"Is there anything I can do for you ma'am?"macei asked.
"Just be a good influencer" she replied. Macei nodded while tiarra stood behind. She escorted macei back outside to get her uber they ordered,macei took a pic with her and tagged her on her story with the caption"I love you tee tee".

Tee tee reposted her story with a love emoji. Everyone immediately knew macei was back like never before because of her post and soon they all wanted to know who tee tee was.
