Chapter 8 ~ Unexpected visitors ~

*knock* *knock*

"Coming!" Tails' voice echoed through the hallway. "Who is it-" He opened the door.

"Where's Sonic?" They asked as they pat Tails on the head.

"Oh, he's currently at a friend's- Acquintance's house." He smiled and pointed to a house on the bottom of a hill.

"Thank you Tails."

"No prob! Go easy on him." He chuckled.

"Sonic, wake up." Shadow threw a pillow unto the Blue hedgehog's face. "You've been asleep for 3 days, and also you have company faker."

"Ugh..." He groaned and turned to his side.

"OLGILVIE MAURICE HEDGEHOG!" A loud voice shook the house.

"Tsk."

Sonic's ears perked up and he instantly sat up.

"Wha-" He looked at Shadow before the bedroom door slammed open, and there they were.

Two green-furred Hedgehogs; One with his signature leather jacket, and his usual shades, the other, with his ragged orange vest, and wristbands with spikes.

"You."

Sonic immediately jumped off of the bed and hid behind Shadow.

"Have mercy." He squeaked.

"Don't scare him Scourge." Manic playfully hit him on his shoulder. "Scourge and I, were in town so we decided to pay you a visit." He chuckled spinning Shadow's key chain on his finger.

"When did you-" Shadow reached forward for Manic, but Scourge got in front of him.

He growled and crossed his arms.

Scourge growled back.

"And, oops- Stole him too." Shadow looked back and saw Manic carrying Sonic.

"W-wait Manic!" Sonic cried before Manic dashed out of the room.

Scourge looked at Shadow, and tossed him back his keys, then left.

"Should we be worried?" A bat poked her head into the room. 

"He seems to know them, and who cares? He can protect himself."

"You're a jerk at times." Rouge crossed her arms. "Commander said we have to take on a mission, G.U.N. headquarters, I'll see you there." She waved, then walked away.

"You should've called me you slick." Sonic hit Manic playfully on the chest before he was put down.

They were now on top of a hill.

"Why pay a visit?"

"Can't I miss stealing you away from your friends?" He laughed then sat down on the grass.

"Of course." Sonic rolled his eyes then sits beside him. "He's not even a friend in the beginning."

A few moments after a green blur passed by them, and sits behind Manic, before drawing him into a back hug.

"What is the real reason you're here?" Sonic raised a brow at his brother, who looked away reddening. It was either he was nervous or embarrassed to say it.

"He was worried for you." Scourge responded for him. "He forced me to come with him." He pulled Manic closer to him. "I have a kingdom to run, but this hedgehog here won't let me."

"Right, King Scourge." Sonic chuckled.

"You're my partner in everything, don't whine." Manic giggled then scratched Scourge under the chin, receiving a loud purr from him. 

Sonic pondered deeply about why would Manic visit him. Then it clicked.

"You heard I was in a coma-like situation, have you?" He asked, Manic looked at him then looked away.

"H-how are you feeling?" He mumbled.

"I feel great actually! Better than ever." Sonic smiled.

"Are you sure?" The blue hedgehog nodded.

"Mr. Sonic!" He looked back and saw Cream sprinting to him, holding a kite. The hybrid he saved before was behind her.

"Hi, Cream." He greeted before he felt her arms around his neck. "Who's your friend?" He referred to the hybrid. Who had stopped a few feet away from them? For some reason.

"Call me Clanny!" She smiled.

"Her name's Clandestine." Cream says. "She's very quiet but quick when moving around, I didn't notice her behind me earlier." She giggled.

"I'm not as quick as my big brother though." Clanny rubs the back of her head.

"Her real name is Jaycee." The cream-colored bunny said, making Sonic hold the string of the kite before she ran and jumped at her friend.

"Cream! Gosh. You always take me by surprise." She laughs, when she lost her balance, landing on the grass.

"Girls!" A worried shout was heard behind them.

"Here comes Amy." Manic chuckled.

"Gotta go!" Clanny stands up, grabbing Cream's hand, taking the kite from Sonic and they hurry off, running down the hill.

"I should have tagged Gemerl along." She sighed, then sees Sonic, and a smile came to her face. "Sonic!"

"Hey, Amy." 

"I'm glad you're awake, it's been full three days." She frowned and put her hands on her hips.

"Shadow woke me up, saying I had company." He groaned.

"Sup Amy." Manic beamed at her.

"Hi Manic." She reciprocated the motion, then glanced at Scourge, but quickly looked away.

"He's okay, as long as I'm here, don't trouble." Manic spun around and began to trace over the imperfection on Scourge's chest. "Won't you?" He receives a low growl-purr from him. "That's what I thought." He smiled.

Sonic made a face and looked at Amy.

"It's particularly breezy and hot today." Sonic stood up. "Or is it just me?" He says, then steps behind Manic.

Scourge glares at Sonic.

"Alright, alright." He raised his hands in excuse. "I won't do anything."

"Sonic." Manic whispered. "You better be good, unless you want your shoes back." He said as he gets off of Scourge and stood up.

"Huh?" Sonic glanced down, and he was barefoot. "Manic!" He looked up at his brother, waving them about.

"You don't want to mess with this street thief, brother~" Manic smiled, sticking out his tongue at Sonic.

Sonic grinned and sighed.

"Right, right, give me back my shoes." He seizes them away from Manic and quickly puts them on.

"Well, you up for lunch?" Manic offered.

"I'm gonna go follow the girls, bye boys!" Amy waved and dashed off.

"Is it just me? Or she's changed since the last time I met her?" Manic questioned.

"She's just nervous around him." Sonic chuckles.

"Since the Rosy incident? That bitch is already behind bars, she need not fret." The lime green-colored hedgehog smirked. "And we made sure, she can't escape and cause mayhem anytime soon."

Scourge huffed and stood up.

"Let's just go eat, I'm hungry."
