Sleeping Beauty Syndrome (A 'Sonic the Hedgehog' AU)

~ Prologue ~

            "Hmmm..." A blue hedgehog murmured out as he was cuddled up to some other hedgehog's chest fur. 

            "Tsk." The hedgehog that the blue one was snuggled up to, wanted to push away the blue hedgehog but was afraid to wake him up at the same time. "Look at him, he's enjoying this." He growled.

            "Who would not enjoy being cuddled to your chest fur? Trust me hun, no one." A bat crossed her arms fluttering her wings behind her.

            "Hmmp." A pink hedgehog huffed and looked away, wishing she was the one the blue hedgehog was cuddled up to.

            "Sorry, if we got you two in this mess." A young kit says nervously twirling his namesakes behind him.

            "Whose fault was this anyway?" A red Echidna looked at his blue friend, and then to the young yellow-furred fox, as he taps his foot on the floor.

            "It was no one's fault Knuckles, we were fighting Eggman and his robots earlier, before we even noticed, Sonic go too close to Eggman, and he injected something into Sonic." The Kitsune looked up at the dark purple eyes that was giving him chills.

            Knuckles gritted his teeth and looked at the black hedgehog who was holding Sonic.

            "I can't take tests if I don't see anything wrong with Sonic." He whispered.

            "Eggman said he was doing Sonic a favour." Amy spoke up.

            "If I was there earlier this wouldn't have happened..." Knuckles clenched his fists, looking down. 

            Then Tails walks to him, hugging him, making the Echidna tense up, standing in place like a statue, as the young Kitsune nuzzles him.

            "Loosen up, this is no one's fault Knux." He whispered.

            The Echidna sighs and carries Tails. The Kit smiles and yawns wrapping his arms around the older's neck, and resting his head on his shoulder, closing his eyelids.

            "C'mon Amy and Rouge, it starting to become dark, let's all go home and rest." 

            Amy went out the door first, followed by Knuckles.

            "Alright, see you in the morning hun!" The bat kissed Shadow on the forehead, and pecked on Sonic's cheek, before walking behind the Echidna.

            She received a growl from the dark hedgehog, who seemed to have held the blue hedgehog closer. She never minded it, getting used to Shadow's personality. 

            "Are you coming to the club handsome?" She says poking at Knuckles' cheek.

            "Not right now, batty." He growled.

            "I see, well what about you sweetie? I can make you a non-alcoholic drink." Rouge backed off of Knuckles and skipped ahead then wrapped a wing around Amy, who got startled at the gesture.

            "I'll pass." She replies, freeing herself of Rouge's wing gently, not wanting to hurt her.

            "Awww, I'll be off then, bye!" Rouge waved and flew off.

            "Finally, some peace." Shadow sighed, and gently pushed the blue hedgehog off of him.

            He then went to close and lock the front door, went up the stairs to get an extra blanket for the blue hero.

            "Tsk, what a drag." He whispers as he covers Sonic with the blanket.

            "You have a guest room right, carry him there." A sweet female voice passed behind him.

            "Blaze, I swear if you melted my doorknob, I'll kill you." Shadow threatened, looking up at the purple cat.

            "I went in through the back door." She says, leaning on the sofa's armrest. "Silver's outside, anyways are you hungry?"

            Shadow glared at her, as he carried the sleeping hedgehog upstairs.

            "Can't you loosen up a bit? I'm trying to be nice here." She called out to Shadow.

            "Just do what you want here and leave."

            "Blaze sighs and went to the kitchen and opened Shadow's refrigerator. 

            "Who says we're leaving? We just got here." She said to herself, smiling. "Silver! You can come in." She called out at the Hedgehog outside.

            Shadow laid Sonic on his bed. The guest room has not been used for so long, dust was everywhere and he didn't want to make the Hero sick, so he took him to his room.

            "Covering Sonic up with the blanket before he hears large clanking noises downstairs.

            "For Chaos' sake. Silver." Shadow growled and before he left the room, he looked over at him. "Goodnight Sonic."
