Chapter 19 (Hidden Labs)

Walking carefully down the stairs, understandably high on guard as it looked like one of those old dilapidated soviet era factories of which years ago, all I saw was pitch black, and a corridor

(Y/N): [Tinder] Ugh... it's still so dark in this plac-

I accidentally bumped into something, and it hurt quite a bit

(Y/N): What the heck was that!

Stepping back a bit and creating a bigger frame, what I saw was what seemed to be a bank vault door thingy that you see in movies and games with a number pad next to it.

(Y/N): Holy h- wait a minute... is this some ancient civilization stuff you keep on seeing in Isekai manga where there was an advanced civilization that was somehow destroyed by one simple thing? Am I really going to get myself involved in such... things?

It took a quick second before I decided.

(Y/N): Of course, I would! Why am I even questioning this stuff despite the countless "characterizations" showing me to be an adrenaline junkie and bored easily! Ancient technology and the possible end of the world experiments, HERE I COME!... after I try to open this door.

Actually feeling the vault door to get a good feel as to what I'm working with, and how to penetrate it, I soon decided that trying to open it through force is something of which is near impossible. Even just touching it, I was getting cuts all over my fingers.

(Y/N): Password it is then...

I said, mumbling to myself. What I saw surprised me as the language I saw was reminiscent of something I happened been flexing in a while...

(Y/N): Japanese? The heck, why is this here? Crap...

Now you might be wondering why I was panicking for a bit, well you see, during the time whilst I was still alive, I've only just recently moved to Japan, and therefore, is still a beginner in learning Japanese, but one thing that is for sure is that I can at least read the language, but not actually understand it. Mixed in with the fact that I have no real use for it and have been putting it off for months though... it's a lot harder to translate this.

(Y/N): Ko... na... mi... Konami! Wait... what? Why is a game company apart of a part of a fantasy world! Is capitalism so large that big business needs to outsource their products to different worlds? Now now... I just need to read the REST of the letters! Hehehe...

MEANWHILE AT THE SURFACE...
Oh look, we finally get to change points of view that ISN'T (Y/N)

Yunyun: Eris, I have always had this question in the back of my mind ever since we first met...

Eris: What is it Yunyun?

Yunyun: You know that time when (Y/N) told me that both of you came from different worlds?

Eris: Oh yeah... tsh... that! What do you want to ask!

Yunyun: Around a year ago, I remembered when a certain hero candidate came to our village, our teachers told us that he will give us first-hand experience in combat... however, he seemed more or less inclined on... other things.

Eris: If it's about him oogling over under-aged girls bodies, I can send his soul to hell.

Yunyun: No no! It's not about that! Not yet at the very least... It's about (Y/N)'s world, I only got small descriptions of it when the "hero" actually reached, which more or less repeated. He said that his world was a far off distant land that we or even he can't reach anymore. He more or less said something along the lines of tall towers made from crystal, fast-moving metal objects and how monsters don't even exist there! He never really said anything else, and I've never really believed him, up until now that is.

Eris: Yeah... about that, some of the things I'm going to tell you will sound a BIT far fetched so I want you to keep an open mind, kay?

Back to (Y/N) who is struggling with preschool level Japanese...
It was fun whilst it lasted

(Y/N): ...Command? Yeah! Command!

After getting a flood of euphoria not seen with even the most potent drugs you can buy on the black market, I snapped back to reality.

(Y/N): Alright the Konami Command... or code, a gaming classic... what order was it again?

We aren't waiting for (Y/N) shuffling through his brain. So have a tiny time skip.

(Y/N): ...and done!

The vault door opened up, with steam and alarm light blaring whilst opening, the light instantly turned on with a depressed fluorescent feel lingering. Dozens of boxes law strewn about, a giant object is seen covered by a white sheet of cotton in the middle of the room.

At the sides, complex mathematical equations, potions and raw material was haphazardly placed all over, reaching for one of the boxes almost like instinct.

(Y/N): Wait a minute... is this, a handheld console?

It surprisingly is indeed! And it had a copy of Pokemon Crystal too!

(Y/N): The heck is up with this?

Continuing on further into the lab, I soon came across what looked to be the most important room, going in, I saw a small notebook on the empty desk. Quickly taking it, I left as the place seemed as though something was watching me...

A few minutes later...

Yunyun: WAIT REALLY?!?

Eris: Yeah, I'm serious, they actually turned him into a pickle! I tell you, funniest shit they've ever created.

(Y/N): Uh... what are you two discussing about?

Eris: Oh you know, just some bonding between us! Right?

Yunyun: Indeed!

(Y/N): Anyways, it's getting pretty late so we should go back...

Yunyun: But there is so much left!

(Y/N): Alright alright, but they better be worth me sacrificing valuable sleep...

Narrator's POV

In one of the many Demon King outposts, the newest constructed one which was made 5 hours ago after the last one was destroyed by a bunch of other worlds, Sylvia, one of the eight Demon King generals is seen limping back to her seat, visibly weakened.

Demon: Err, Sylvia sir?

Slyvia: What is it! I'm not in a good mood!

Demon: It's something important... our recent aerial and scouting operations have found that the seal that protected the legendary Mage Killer has been opened!

Slyvia: Finally! Alright, I'll be going there by myself. Tell the other demons to do a full-on assault after you see flames go up in the village! It's time to end this stalemate once and for all!

Demon: But uh... our demons need time to replenish in numbers... that will take a while considering the distance between us and our actual territory...

Slyvia: Ah, never mind! I'll do it myself. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I CAN'T pass it up!

[Chapter end]

________________________________________________________________

Ah yes, I finally posted a chapter after 3 weeks. I'm slowly starting to descend to become... those fanfiction writers... ugh, it's making me feel uncomfortable...

Anyways, it seems as though one of the Demon King Generals is about to get some superweapon as our hero, (Y/N), failed to do the simple task of closing a door.

But that will be the next guy's problem to deal with... I suppose...

Anyways, a little bit more context to this you could say is that whilst all of this is happening, Hans, that slime demon thing, is about to destroy the town.

Anyways anyways, I hope to see you in another chapter! Peace!
