Let me fill yall in on the inspiration for this story.
I respect each and every author on this platform so please don't take offense in what I'm about to say.
I love to read mafia books. Even more so when the male character is a total piece of sh*t,abusive,harsh and cold. What boosted my love for reading such books was a weak and highly dependent female character.
Now,going back to my inspiration. I never really understood a brutal character suddenly apologizing for what he has done.
I mean,call me dumb but one's character/personality will always be that.
There's a saying that goes more or less like: If you can't find it,create it yourself.
Basically,create what you like if what you find isn't available.
So that basically sums up my inspiration for Heartbeat.
I have made the description of this story pretty clear.
I informed yall,warned you that Deontay is not a good man.
He's not the usual male character you're used to. He's not kind,nor loves in a way yall are used to. He's different and he'll always be that way.
I also made sure to tell yall that there will be no warning in any chapter published. This is because literally every chapter is triggering in some way.
