For him to be mine.

"Oh, you mean Ethan?" I nodded. "He doesn't work on Sundays," he shrugged giving Landon his food. "Brave reported his injury, so he'll probably be off for the rest of the week,"

"Is he in hospital?"

"Oh no. Man's stubborn about hospitals, so no chance," he shook his head.

Fuck. Then where is he?

Should I go to his Resident? I can just play it off that I'm here to see him. Plus, I do have his number. I couldn't help myself.

"Hey, where are you going? You haven't paid," Landon yelled out. I ignored him, knowing he's capable of paying for himself.

Fishing out my phone, my thumb hovered above Ethan's name.

No. It's too soon. Let's give it a day.

But what if he's really hurt? How will I know? Maybe I can convince him to go to the hospital. Or I can bring him chocolate. He said he liked chocolate.

"Fuck," I groaned in frustration.

Monday came and I was swinging on the chair, staring at my phone while the interns gave a boring presentation at work.

Ethan was still fresh in my mind. I haven't called him. I'm getting sick worried about his injury. I swear I'm going to fuck Freeder for doing this to him. The man's impulsive.

At the same time, I'm grateful for the edibles. I know for a fact, Ethan wouldn't have been that brave to ask me if he could kiss me. Gosh he's the cutest.

"Sir?" I looked up at the frightened intern. "What do you think?"

What do I think? I wasn't listening.

I grabbed the file in front of me and scanned through it. Fighting back a groan.

"Do it again," I said looking back up. "This isn't good enough. Show me that you want to work with us. You're missing a lot of things in here. I'm giving you two days," I stood up and grabbed my phone. "And I expected nothing but the best. Or you can walk out,"

"Yes sir,"

I was out before they can say anything else. I'm going to see Ethan. I might just go crazy if I go another day without seeing him.

Fuck, I sound desperate. Pathetic.

To my dismay, he wasn't at work today as well. It was already three in the afternoon and there's no sign of him. His injury must be worse.

I'm calling him.

As I made my way back to the car, I called him. Pulling him on speaker while reversing out of the parking.

"Ethan Waverley, hello?" He answered.

"Ethan, hi," I said. "You're speaking to Reese," I smiled at the nickname he gave me. Only he's called me Reese. Not even Yolanda gave me that name. It was always Tyrese or Ty, which is literally the same as my brother, Tyrell. I can't exactly fight her on it.

The little shit's got me wrapped around her tiny finger. Just like a certain long haired boy.

"Hello?" I frowned when Ethan didn't say anything. I looked to see he'd hung up. I pressed on the brakes, brows furrowed. Looking up at the rearview mirror, there weren't any cars following me. "What the fuck?" I grabbed my phone and called him again.

He hung up on me.

I thought we were cool. Did I do something wrong? Fuck. I pressed the phone to my ear, parking on the side.

"Ethan, don't hang up," I rushed out when he pickes up but said nothing. "Please don't hang up," I pleaded with him. Is he avoiding me on purpose? "How are you feeling? Why aren't you at work?"

"I'm hurt, remember?" He spoke softly.

"Do you want me to take you to the hospital?" I inquired, concerned. "How bad is it?"

"It's okay. Brave's been taking care of me. I'm fine," he told me.

"You had a head injury, Ethan. Don't take that lightly,"

"I'm fine," he repeated.

Yep. Stubborn.

"If you say so," I murmured in defeat. I can't exactly argue with him. I have no right. There was silence as no one talked. "Can I see you?" I asked quietly, unable to help myself. "I want to see you,"

"Uhm...Brave told me to stay in bed," he murmured quietly. "He's very strict when I'm sick," I smiled at his cute high pitched tone. This friend must really care about Ethan. It's good. He needs someone to take care of him.

"I'll come to you," I said. "You don't have to go anywhere. Let me come to you,"

"Uhm," I can tell he's hesitating. Fuck, I don't want him to hesitate with me. I want him to be comfortable. "Okay, I guess," my heart leapt in joy. He told me his Resident, even though I already knew from his profile.

"Okay, I'm on my way," I said starting the car.

I sped through the traffic back to school, eager to see him. I got my chance and I'm not letting it slip.

Fuck, I should have brought Yolanda. He wanted to see her so bad. He calls her an angel. That sassy little rat has never warmed up to anyone like he did with him.

I really need to find ways to get him to warm up to me.
