Chapter 1 • Attention

Start from the beginning

"Dream never has time for me anymore. He never does things for me anymore either like he used to. I always have to edit my own videos and train for MCC by myself. He's an idiot." I thought.

I immediately called Quackity. He picked up after a few rings.

QUACKITY:
"Hey sorry—could I call you back later? I'm doing some school work right now."

GEORGE:
"Oh yeah. Sorry."

QUACKITY:
"No you're fine." He quickly hung up.

I set my phone down on my desk and sighed.

"Everyone's busy except me. What's Dream even doing that's sooo important??" I scoffed while shaking my head.

- DREAM's POV-
After getting some business done, I laid down in my bed as all the exhaustion came up at once.

"It's only 4 o'clock. I'm already exhausted." I thought while leaning my arm against my forehead.

I then remembered that I have to edit the manhunt we filmed today. I got up slowly and sat down in my chair.

Suddenly, George called me. I answered, putting him on speaker so I could set my phone on my desk.

DREAM:
"Would you look at that? I'm making time for you."

He scoffed.

GEORGE:
"Whatever. What're you doing?"

DREAM:
"I just got done with some things and now I'm gonna edit the manhunt from today." I said while clicking on the footage.

GEORGE:
"Nooo play Bedwars with me."

DREAM:
"I can't. I gotta edit the video."

GEORGE:
"Who cares? Edit it tomorrow." He mumbled.

DREAM:
"That would be impossible. I got a packed schedule tomorrow. I won't have time." I typed on the keyboard.

GEORGE:
"Whatever." He sighed.

I knew I wasn't making as much time for him like I used to but, I had my reasons.

DREAM:
"George, we can play Bedwars another time." I mumbled.

GEORGE:
"No, I don't want to anymore." He lied.

I sighed.

DREAM:
"Okay..."

The call fell silent for a few minutes. The only noises being heard were the ones of my keyboard and mouse as I edited the video.

He finally spoke.

GEORGE:
"Are you still editing? I'm bored."

DREAM:
"Yeah, I'm still editing. And play Minecraft or something."

GEORGE:
"I would if you would stop editing."

DREAM:
"Why do you want my attention so badly today?"

GEORGE:
"Because you never have time for me anymore."

I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose.

GEORGE:
"What do you even do during the day anyways that's sooo important?"

DREAM:
"A lot."

GEORGE:
"Okay well I don't see why you can't spend at least 10 minutes with me."

DREAM:
"George, c'mon..." I mumbled.

GEORGE:
"No. You aren't being a good friend. The least you could do is talk to me. You've been silent the whole call."
