I huffed as I observed my nail tech work her magic on my manicure. She glanced between me and my freshly shaven down set, ready to clean up and polish them.

"Damn girly.. I'm sorry," she apologized for my frustrations.

I had just finished breaking down my wicked love life to her, but a modified version that didn't disclose all of the illegal activities. I had enough people in my life with malicious intent, and even though I knew she'd never be one I could never be too sure with my luck.

Jackson hasn't talked to me in a week. No text, calls, gifts- nothing. I asked his men countless of times throughout the day if they could get a hold of him or tell me where he's at, but all they give me is a genuine "I don't know."

It's like he went MIA.

Just like my father ...

One of his men said the last time they saw Jackson he was furious and had a duffel bag on his shoulder when he stormed out of the house.

I fought tears for the severalth time that week. Izzy comes over almost every night to comfort me and ease my mind off of it, but nothing compares to the warmth Jackson puts in my stomach.

I get it when I think about him, look at him, and especially when I'm in his presence. It always feels like time becomes nonexistent, and for some reason this past week alone made me realize my feelings were becoming more than a simple infatuation.

I love everything about him, but of course just when my feelings peak over that horizon he's no where to be found.

"You know what.. 50% off today for my gurl, on me," Chantel waved off like no big deal.

She usually charges me $110 for my sets. That's a generous amount of money that I couldn't let her miss out on.

"Chantel you know I won't let you do that," I shook my head back.

Especially not when I always give her an extra hundred dollar tip. It's excessive, yes, but she deserves it for her work and hospitality.

I mean the woman even did my nails for me at her home two weeks after having her second child!

"Well you will today," she dismissed.

"Fine, but you didn't say how much I can tip," I threw back.

She went to protest but realized there'd be no point- she would be getting this money from me regardless.

"I can't stand you," she shook her head.

"I know that's why we're sitting babe," I winked back with a corny remark.

"So you still working at the club boo?"

"No, I quit, but I've had so much time on my hands lately I might go back... or at least teach a couple of classes during the day. I miss it..." I sighed.

Hearing no words from Jackson or any updates on the situation, my mind wandered back to the club easily. I let him knock down my walls and break my promise to myself that I'd never let a man affect my decisions. Now I had no distraction from our relationship and rusty bones.
