Leaving, Reunited 1

Depuis le début

"Wha-" She paused, looked at her confused and shook her head clearing her throat, "what? You're- you're joking, right?" Deena scoffed out in disbelief.

"I'm not. I-I'm moving to.. to Sunnyvale..." Sam stuttered out her announcement and although she was scared, it was as if a pin had just dropped and the world around them froze and stopped in that moment, which made Deena's eyes quickly fill with tears,

"Sam, I know we got caught and I get that you're-"

"My parents got a divorce... Deena, my dad's making me go with my mom... he won't hear me out." Sam explained to Deena,

"When were you going to tell me...?" Deena questioned confused, letting out a small scoff. Her mouth closed and her jaw tensed up, she tilted her head to the left slightly, her lips trembled slightly as she didn't want to believe it.

"I-I wasn't going too..." Sam stuttered out, "I-I mean I was... but I then thought that if I told you when I left-"

"You were going to tell me when you were-" Deena stopped herself from shouting and sighed heavily as she turned around and looked at the ground; Sam hesitantly placed her hand on Deena's shoulder but Deena tensed up which made Sam rush to move her hand off of her. "Don't." Deena told her demandingly. "So, so, what's the plan? What're- what're we going to do?" Deena asked turning around to her as she had a huge struggle being around Sam let alone look her in the eyes.

"I just... I just wanted to tell you that it's going to be hard, okay? Because I'm going to need to figure out who I am and all in Sunnyvale but I promise you- I assure you, this isn't going to affect us, I-I don't want it too." Sam expressed to Deena who simply stared her down, "I'm just going to really need you to be here for me, for the next few months. But I can try to learn how to drive-"

"I know you can. But Sam... it's a stretch, and it'd be a lot of money for the trips back and forth..." Deena started as she let out a stressful breath, she licked her lips while looking up at the sky letting out a heavy breath, she looked down at Sam. "so maybe, it's best if we take a break..." Deena continued and Sam grasped her hands in Deena's.

"No, Deena, please, we can make it work." Sam insisted but Deena removed her hands and took a step back shaking her head.

"No, no, we can't." Deena told her, her voice going raspy as in the moment she's thinking that she's doing the right thing but for what was to come a hard 8 months, she was going to regret every second. "It won't be good for us, Sam." Deena told her in a soft tone, her bottom lip quivering slightly.

"But... but we promised each other-"

"I know we did, I know." Deena said as she placed her hand on Sam's neck to which Sam used to her advantage and leaned her head more into her hand, Deena picked her head up and placed her index and middle finger under her chin moving her head up. "But Sam... come on, you have to be foolish to think that we were even going to not get caught at some point..." Deena expressed to her, Sam stayed quiet. Deena removed her hand from Sam's face and turned around and went to walk away, she even took a few steps but the voice of Sam interrupted her steps making her come to a holt.

"So, what? We're just not going to talk to each other?!" Sam shouted at her hurt as she didn't know how Deena could just randomly say these things without any hurt or remorse in her tone. Deena turned around,

"Yeah, I guess so." She said as her voice was getting raspier by the second while more and more tears were falling down her face,

"Fuck." Sam mumbled to herself, she looked at the side and slowly dragged her eyes toward Deena, "I know you love me... okay? I know we haven't said that to each other, but I know it! Because somewhere..." Sam let out a small breath, "just somewhere, deep, deep down, in that heinous heart of yours, there's a part of you that knows that you love me." Sam exclaimed in a way to stop Deena from walking further away. But Deena shook her head.

"No," Deena dismissed. "I don't." She lied straight through her teeth, Sam gasped lightly taking a huge inhale of air for it only to be stuck in her throat.

"Deena..." She said taking a step forward reaching for her hand, but Deena moved back away from her hand,

"No, stay the fuck away from me..." Deena told her before walking off leaving Sam to fall to her knees and burst into tears,

Sam hated the world in that moment for letting her fall in love with someone who most likely didn't even love her back. Yet she couldn't help... but want to run after her and have at least one last kiss as the kiss that they last shared, felt too short for it to feel like it even happened yet the hot breath that came from Deena, was still rested on Sam's cold lips.

Sam walked home with her heart broken in her hands and as she arrived outside, her mother came outside to see her with tears in her eyes,

"Is it done?" She asked, Sam nodded her head staying quiet. "Good, we better start getting ready to go-"

"Whatever." Sam barged past her and went up to where her room used to be and slammed the door shut not wanting to see her mother.

Her heart broke and longed for Deena's touch, she hadn't even been a whole 20 minutes without her and she missed her so much but knew that they weren't going to talk for a good while, she didn't know that the next 8 months were going to be hard for her as she had to try and balance being the perfect new girl at Sunnyvale on her shoulders having to make up some excuse on where she's from.

She wasn't ready.

She simply wasn't ready for the next part of her life and she didn't want it to be over. Yet she had to accept the fact that Deena... didn't love her. She said it herself, she doesn't love her. And as much as she wanted to cry and hold onto the hoodies that Deena gave her that still smelled like her as she had a perfume that Deena had given her that smelled like her in case they ever had a situation where one of them was going somewhere like Sam's family going on camping trips, she would always take Deena's perfume and hoodie with her as it always helped her sleep. And she knew that she was going to be doing that,

it was as if it was the obvious choice since it really was a nice scent that surrounded Deena; one that Sam could overdose from. But all she really wanted in that moment, was to have Deena hug her from behind and wrap her arms around her as if she was protecting her like she always did.

Deena went every length for the two whenever one of them got grounded or they weren't allowed to see each other; they always had back-up plans. And now that Deena was done with Sam...

Sam didn't want to be done... with Deena.
