Quarrel

She greeted Mama and behind her I saw my brother. Doon nalipat ang atensyon ni Mama kaya naiwan siya.

She walked towards us confidently. Ngiting-ngiti siya sa akin. I don't want to be rude, but there's something about her smile. It's almost suspicious.

Maliit ko siyang nginitian at pinanood ang paglagpas niya sa akin para mapuntahan si Sage.

I met his eyes, but I looked away immediately when Sophie clung into his arms. Imbes na manatili roon, bumaba na ako ng hagdan para mapuntahan ang kapatid.

"Hey," he greeted me.

I smiled and hugged him. He got so busy that I thought he can't come for his vacation.

Hindi pa umuuwi si Kuya Declan dito kaya posibleng tatawag ako mamaya. If I will tell him I miss him, for sure he will go home.

Pumasok kami agad sa loob dahil sa araw. Nadatnan ko ang tahimik na usapan ni Sophie at Sage sa sala.

Pagpasok ko pa lang ng mansyon, ang kanyang mata ay nasa akin na. Pasimple akong umiwas at nilingon si Mama, para muling pag-usapan ang tungkol sa donation.

We continued to talk about it while my brother talked to Sage. Naririnig ko ang bawat pagsingit ni Sophie sa kanilang seryosong usapan.

He admitted they're not in relationship and I started to believe it. Pero nang dumating si Sophie, parang nawala ang ipinangako kong maniniwala sa sinasabi niya.

It's just too hard to believe, especially she's clingy with him. There's something deeper between them and just like what I believed before, he chose to refuse about it.

Sophie being clingy is not normal, it will turn like one if that's her natural trait. Hindi ako mag-iisip ng ganito kung ganyan din ang trato niya sa kapatid ko. She's being clingy, but only for Sage.

Hindi ko na alam ang paniniwalaan.

After the talkings with Mama, I chose to stay in my room for the whole day. Kakarating pa lang ni Sophie pero nag-aya na siyang maligo ng dagat kay Sage. For sure, he will be with her.

I'm watching a series when someone knocked on my door. I stood up without removing my eyes from the TV.

It's almost lunch, maybe I need to go downstairs. I'm expecting Mama or Manang but when I opened the door, it's the least that I expected it to be. 

"Aren't you going to eat your lunch?" si Sage.

"Huh?"

Hindi ako makapaniwalang nandito siya.

Kumunot ang kanyang noo at tinignan ang loob ng kwarto ko. I bet he can hear the movie playing.

"You're locking yourself here because of that?" he asked seriously.

Bahagya akong nataranta.

"O-Of course not. I was just bored," dahilan ko.

Mukhang hindi siya kuntento sa isinagot ko pero hindi na nagtanong pa.

"Let's have a lunch,"

"O-Okay, papatayin ko lang ito." tukoy ko sa TV at mabilis nga iyong pinatay.

I throw the remote on my bed and walked towards the door. Nakatayo siya sa labas ng pintuan kaya inakala ko pang hindi ako kakasya sa paglabas.

Bahagya siyang umatras at kinuha ko ang pagkakataon na iyon na isara ang pintuan ng kwarto.
