Tyler's POV

Last class of the day

The day seemed to just fly by and it was one of those days where I wished it would just slow down, I'm nervous about the dinner tonight and it stresses me out. I've zoned out most of the class and I just don't feel in it today.

"Miss Mayley, hello Miss Mayley earth to Miss Mayley" The teacher called out

I snap back into reality "Miss Mayley was Taylor so please just call me Tyler"

"Ok Tyler have you heard anything about what I have been explaining" He asked

"No sorry sir" I sigh

"Ok everyone carry on Tyler can you come with me please" He says "Bring your school bag"

"Ok" I sighed

"Look" He starts as we stopped outside of the class "I know you've been through a lot"

"It's no excuse I know that" I say "But I know everything and I'm bored"

"I know Tyler and that's why I want you to meet Jane" He says pointing to her "She's a college professor at UCLA and I haven't been able to stop talking about how intelligent you are"

"It is very nice to meet you Tyler, I have heard so much about you and I'm excited to see your work and get to know you that is only if you are interested" She says

"Yes I'm so keen thank you so much" I say

"Great so if we can head off to an empty class and we can do some tests to see where you're sitting at and then I'll be about to get you some papers sorted from there" She says

"Ok cool" I smiled "Thank you so much Sir for caring about me"

"That's quite alright Tyler you are very bright and are wasted in my class" He says

"Thank you" I smiled

"Great did you say earlier that 301 was free?" Jane asked

"Yes just around the corner" He replied

"Great let's go" She says

"This is pretty good of you guys to do, my old school back home gave me papers but I wasn't tested or anything so I still found them easy" I say

"I'm excited for you, we don't get too many students like you who have gone through some tough things and to still be up to date in every assignment, It's truly unbelievable" She smiled

"A bit of luck I guess" I smiled

"Ok let's set up in here, I've brought pens, pencils, paper and everything. I want you to do 2 essays, one persuasive and one formal just to get an idea of your writing so it'll be an hour each so we will run a little after school is that ok?" She says

"Uh yes I will just message my dad and let him know that I'll run a little late, I've got this stupid family dinner tonight and I've been asked to not get into trouble and be home before dinner" I say
