OPD.

A woman is under follow-up for chest pain. She has no ongoing chest pain.

"I'll see you in six months," I tell her.

"But Doctor," she says. My heart sinks. "I want to ask..."

She pulls down her neckline a little, showing a metal chain around her neck. She points to a few tiny skin bumps along the neckline.

"I've got these things growing on my neck."

"They're skin tags. They're from friction, from your neckline or your necklace. It's not cancer. They're just unsightly. They'll fall off eventually. Stop wearing your necklace if you don't want them coming back."

"I don't think they're skin tags."

"But they are."

"I'm worried it's a fungal infection."

"It's not."

"But my friend says it's a fungal infection."

Then why are you asking my opinion? I hide my irritation.

"Is your friend a doctor?"

"No."

Exactly.

"They're skin tags. See you in six months."
