Chapter 30: Start anew
"G-Gadiel… " usal ko. Bahagyang napaawang ang labi ko sa gulat at pagtataka.
Paano at nandito siya ngayon? Bakit sa dinami-daming architect sa mundo ay siya ang napili ni Kuya Vince? Akala ko ba hindi magkaayos ang mga Montejo at Ylarde? How come? At isa pa, bali-balita na nasa Norway siya. Nandoon dapat siya at… baka nga doon na rin sila nagpakasal ni Laine.
He's grown mature now and manly. I can see his toned muscles on his white polo and gray trousers. His curly hair was on a clean cut now, it fitted him well. He's the same handsome man I met and fell in love with in senior high school.
Right at that moment, I realized how much I miss him. How I've been dying for this moment to come. I anticipated this, on how his brown eyes will look at me again.
Something tugged my heart when I saw a glint of happiness on his eyes but it was short-lived. In a split second, his expressionless face greeted me. It saddened me deep inside.
Akala ko… nakamoved on na ako. Pero nang makita ko iyong titig niya sa 'kin kanina, lintik talaga! Umasa na naman ako. Na baka… masaya nga siyang makita akong muli pero itinago niya lang. Ayaw niyang malaman ko.
"Good morning, I am Architect Gadiel Kleid Montejo of Rural Scapes. Nice to meet you, Miss CFO. Thank you for choosing my firm." He muttered in his formal tone. He even extended his hand on me.
Palihim akong napangiwi. Ilang taon na ba ang lumipas at kailangan niya pang magpakilala? Haven't we knew each other before?
My heart instantly got shattered into pieces again. I get it. We used to be the happiest and strongest until we both became each other's nobody. A strangers who shared the same memories and past.
"Suenella Wynette Llamera, Chief Financing Officer of AnScents Co. I'm pleased to meet you too, Mr. Montejo." I flashed a smile while I accepted his handshake.
Hindi ko alam kung guni-guni ko lang pero saglit kong nakita ang pagtama ng sakit sa mata niya nang banggitin ko siya sa kanyang apelyido. Ngunit nasisiguro kong guni-guni lang iyon. Dahil bakit naman siya masasaktan gayong may asawa na siyang tao hindi ba?
"So, shall we proceed to our main agendum?" agap ko.
Marahan siyang tumango at nagsimula nang i-discuss sa akin ang nakapaloob sa blueprint. Napakaseryoso niya buong oras at nakikinig lang ako sa kanya. Pansin ko ang pagkunot ng noo niya tuwing napapansin niya ang pagkatulala ko sa kanya ng mga ilang minuto na kaagad ko namang tinatanggal.
"Hey, Wynette are you listening to me?" kunot-noong tanong niya sa akin. He's too cold. He even called me by my second name.
"U-Uh, yes Mr. Montejo go on... " kinurot ko ang kamay ko sa sobrang inis. Snow, tama na kakatulala!
And for the first time since I got in this room, Gadiel smirked while playfully shaking his head in amusement.
"You weren't listening at all. Miss Llamera, I'm done discussing few minutes ago. What I'm asking is if you got any violent reactions regarding the cost of expenses of the rooftop garden renovation I've mentioned?" nawiwili pa rin itong nakangisi sa akin.
"Yes I am! I was paying attention, Mr. Montejo. And I've got no more questions nor concern to the cost of expenses. I'm fine with it. Ahm… I think we're done already? So, please excuse me I got more things to do. Have a nice day, Architect Montejo." I gave him a side glance before I started walking out at the CEO's office.
