(person a) has been stuck in a time loop for a while now with (person b). things are fine, until they aren't.

something catastrophic happens (atom bomb/explosion, apocalypse, etc), and the two have to make their way in the hellsite that's now their world.

(person a), who's been stuck in the same time loop, and therefore used to it, takes (person b) out on a date to show them their new situation; i.e. a fucked up winter while nothing's hardly there.

while in an anxious and confused state, (person b) hears (person a) talking softly to them. (a)'s eyes on the landscape around them.
