Kennedy's POV

As Mia drove us back to where we had been staying, I couldn't help but stare at Kenzie. She was oblivious to what would be going to happen. I looked between Kenzie and Mia. We finally pulled up to the house.

Mia shot me a look, and I knew what to do. "Kenzie, you have to close your eyes," I told her.

"Why?" She asked back.

"Because I want to show you my room, but it needs to be a surprise."

"Okay," she said as she closed her eyes tightly and put a hand over them.

I looked at Mia, who gave me an approving nod. I Didn't want to do this, but I wanted to go home, so I had to. I got out of the car and took Kenzie's hand, the one that wasn't over her eyes. "This way." I lead her to the front door, and put my hand on the doorknob. "No peeking." I Didn't want to open the door, but Mia moved my hand out of the way and opened it herself. "Keep them closed," I said as I walked into the house. I watched as Mark came up behind Kenzie and put a cloth in front of her face. After a few seconds, her hand dropped from her face, and she fell to the floor. She was lifeless.

"You didn't kill her, did you?" I asked.

"No, we've been through this. She just went to sleep," Mark answered. I watched as he dragged her limp body into another room down the hallway. Then he came back.

"Can I go home now?" I asked eagerly.

"Yup, that was the deal. Mia has your plane ticket, she'll take you to the airport," Mark replied.

Mia put a hand on my back and lead me back to her car. I was quiet the whole ride. "Remember, what's going to happen is none of your business, neither is it anyone else's. Demi took Kenzie from her dad, and Mark is just going to take care of her until her dad gets back."

"What is Mark going to do to Kenzie?" I asked.

"Kennedy, I just told you that is none of your business."

"I helped him get Kenzie back."

"And he appreciates that. He bought you a plane ticket back to your state."

"He took me in the first place," I argued back.

"Kennedy, that is enough. I don't want to hear anymore about it," Mia warned. I decided to give up.

After a long and silent car ride, we made it to the air port. I Didn't have anything with me, so we didn't have To go through luggage. Mia walked with me to where we were boarding. "She's going alone. Her grandmother is waiting for her at the other airport." The woman nodded and allowed us on the plane. "And remember," Mia whispered in my ear. "He told you not to tell."

A long plane ride later, I was back in my home state. I got off the plane and looked around the airport. I Didn't know anyone. I went to the information table. My mom told me to go there if I didn't know anywhere else to go. I walked up and a man looked up from his papers. I didn't even say anything and his jaw dropped.

"Are you Kennedy Balinger?" He asked. I nodded. "Come with me." He took me to a police woman. "She's found," he said. The officer looked down at me, the knelt in front of me.

"How about we take you back home?" She asked. I nodded eagerly. It's been two months since I've seen my mom and dad. I climbed into the police car, and was taken to a police station. while in the car, the police woman was talking on the phone. "They'll be waiting for you," she smiled back at me. I couldn't help but get excited.

The officer was right. When we pulled up, I immediately saw my parents. "Mommy! Daddy!" I yelled while running into their awaiting arms. We cried into each other for a really long time.

"Where have you been?" My mom asked over and over again while still holding me tight.
