“Oh my gosh, I’m so surprised. I thought you would never make it here. We have so much to catch up on.”

“Excuse me, I don’t mean to interrupt your reunion but we have a meeting Shandon.” Detrick said impatiently. Dessiah looked at him over her shoulder and rolled her eyes. She turned her attention back to Shandon ignoring Detrick.

“Listen I’m headed to lunch if you want I can wait for you to join me.” Detrick peered at her. She could feel his stare burning a hole in the back of her head. How dare she invite him to lunch? Detrick had to force her to allow him to go to lunch with her and Delaney.  What the hell is going on? Now Shandon appears and she’s jumping in his arms talking about she’ll wait for him. Dafuq?!

“We’re expected to be here for a while.” Detrick interrupted.

“Sorry Des. But I’ll be here and we have plenty of time.” Shandon kissed her on her cheek and Detrick saw red. He quickly guided Dessiah out of his office, closing the door in her face.

Hours Later Dessiah was greeted with a knock on her office door.

“Hey.”

“Hey!” She sounded pitchy from excitement.

“I don’t mean to interrupt I just wanted to say hello before you left for the day.” Shandon stood in the door way.

“No its no problem. I’m glad you came by please come in and have a seat. Do you want something to drink?”

“No I’m fine.” He sat across from her desk. Now without his suit jack he loosened his purple tie.

“So… how have you been?” She asked.

“I’ve been good.  I see you got the hang of everything, which I knew you would.”

“Well I had your help invested in this project so thank you.” Shandon smiled. “My daughter is here I should go and get her to introduce you.”

“Was that the little girl in the by Paris?”

“Yep. That’s my baby. Did you get a chance to talk to her?”

“No. I think I scared her because as soon as we came out the office she ran straight to Detrick. I understand though, I’m a stranger but I’d love to formally meet her.”

“You will trust me just excuse her mouth in advance. She is something else.”

“Hahaha she’s excused in advance.” There was a moment of silence. “ Dessiah I want to apologize for you coming here by yourself.”

“Its fine and besides you apologized before.”

“I know but I never told you why. The night you left my office I got a call that my mother had a stroke. She had been in the hospital for some time and now she’s doing a lot better.
