In 6th period Miles sits next to me. (the tables are organized in pairs)

"Hey" he says

"Hi ...how was it?" I ask

"How was what?" He asks confused

"Oh you mean the sex?" He asks

"Yea..." I say

"It didn't happen. When she was taking her clothes off she realized that she had gotten her period. It was everywhere. It was gross. So yea. I'm kind of glad it didn't happen though. I'm not into meaningless sex"

"Sure your not" I say

"Not when I'm sober" he smiles

I roll my eyes. He's talking about the time he cheated on me because he was "drunk". Maybe he was. I might never even know.

"But your eventually going to have sex with her you know" I say

"Nahh. I'll say that I forgot a condom or something" he says

"Your so confusing" I say

"I don't think I am"

"So you date a girl that you feel sorry for that used to be horrible to me and you won't have sex with her even though she has a perfect body and even though you have had sex with strangers a million times before? And now for some unknown reason you won't have sex unless it means something? Since when did that happen?" I say

"I'm changing" he smiles

"Yes and that's why you date the first girl that asks you out" I say sarcastically

"Jeez calm down I thought you would be happy for me for changing my ways." he says

"I appreciate that your trying to change and be in a more committed relationship but it jut doesn't make sense to me." I say

"Are you mad at me?" He asks

"No" I say "why"

"Well your giving me a lecture on how to live my life which you never do. And your like the happiest person I know yet you haven't smiled once this period" he says

"It's has literally been like 10 minutes since this period has started" I say

"Exactly!" He says "You usually can't even go a minute without giggling!"

"I guess" I say

"Is everything ok?" He asks

"Yea. Everything's great actually" I say
