I almost stumbled when I saw what I got in response, his smile. This is the second time. I think I'm making daddy proud!

"Thank you mi niña." a chuckle absconds his mouth, I wasn't feeling my feet on any hard surface anymore. I gawked at him as he gently placed me on the middle seat of the car, "Don't leave this side, okay?"

He didn't make me reply, instead, I heard the car roar to life so I asked, "thank you for accepting the sandwich. I know you love it, even Megan knows."

"So, the name's Megan."

I quickly covered my mouth, buried my head between my laps while I heard him burst into fits of laughter.

"I know you love it." I interrupted him from his laughter session, he gaped at me and suddenly, a smirk appeared on his lip.

"Sandwich isn't my favorite, mi niña."

What does mi niña even mean? I heard it for the second time today.

"But you love this one," I argued. "like you really really really love it. it's so obvious."

"Oh is it? you must have gained your bad lying skills from your dad, mi niña."

"Daddy what's mi ñi... I mean mi- you know the word right?"

Ugh... I hate long words.

I almost joined him in his laughter, I'd never seen someone laugh this much because of me before, talkless of my dad. Seems I need to make dad laugh a lot and aunty ana and maybe... Grace.

Grace

That name rings a bell, doesn't it?

It sure does.

"it's a Spanish word."

"Okay."

Now I don't know what to describe my state. What does Spanish even mean?

confusion upon confusion

"Spanish is a language just like we speak English here... mi niña is a Spanish word meaning my girl or baby girl," he stated quietly like he was... shy. Okay but I never thought I'd see the shy side of my dad.

"Papa you're shy!"I exclaimed with a chortle.

He shook his head without any word leaving his mouth but focused on the road. I, on the other hand, kept staring at my handsome daddy through the mirror. The worst part is that he almost caught me. What am I saying? He caught me red-handed.
