CHAPTER THIRTY-FIVE

"A jeni mirë, zonjë?" The staff asked me if I'm okay and I nodded before closing the door. I was kind of okay after calming myself down. The shootout was fucking near this hotel! I can't stop myself from looking outside the window even if my hands were shaking.

My lips parted when I saw the number of people that's been shot. Ten people were wounded and four were dead.

I mean, what if the person who died was the breadwinner of the family?

I turned off the television because I couldn't watch the others cry while looking at the body of their loved ones covered with white cloth. It's hard to see it. I know it because when I saw Monica's body covered with that white cloth, I couldn't move. I can't feel anything.

When my phone rang again, I grabbed it and answered it. "H-Hello?"

[Kanina pa 'ko tumatawag! Are you okay?] I heard panic in Darren's voice. I guess he heard the news or saw it online. [Please tell me you're okay. Please tell me you weren't one of the people who got shot.]

"I-I am okay. Sorry kung 'di ko nasagot kaagad, I was watching the news."

[Elle...] He sighed. [How can you watch the ne— Are you okay?]

I smiled. "Don't worry, I'm okay now. Still shaking but don't worry, I'll be okay."

He sighed. [Do you need me there?]

"Do you want to come here?" I laughed and shook my head.

He laughed, making me smile. [One more month, love.]

"Yup, I know! See you in one month, my love!"

[What did you sa—] I ended the call quickly and laughed. Parang first time niya atang marinig na tinawag ko siyang ganoon!

When I sat on the bed, I grabbed my laptop to see the emails. Nakita kong nagse-send si Kael doon ng updates and pictures regarding the project. Alam kong matagal-tagal pa 'yon matatapos and hopefully, when it started, maging successful 'yon. At saka alam ko namang magiging maayos 'yon dahil team nila Kael ang gumagawa. I kind of researched about his former projects and all of them were made safely and beautifully.

Days turned into weeks. I spent most of the days going to museums, answering emails, and going to restaurants. Thankfully, it helped me forget all of my problems. I won't cry even if I remember what happened.

I'm going to visit the Acropolis Museum today and maybe buy more souvenirs here in Greece for my friends.

"Wow..." My lips parted when I got inside the museum. It was so beautiful! I am so mesmerized by its beauty. I was glued on the floor the moment I stepped inside. My eyes roamed around the whole foundation and I was running out of words to describe this place.
