New Years Eve rolled around of course, right after Christmas. Ava made plans for us to go down into Philly to her friend Tony's house. Ava, unlike me, had a lot of friends. Making friends never came to me very easily. Why I cherished Ava even more.
Katie wanted to help me pick an outfit again, and she chose a black mini dress with black fishnets for me.
"April would approve of this." I said, looking at myself in the mirror.
I could see Katie in the mirror looking at me. "She definitely would."
"I hope Ava approves." I turned around and looked at Katie.
"Oh, she will. You look great." Katie smiled at me. I saw her looking at me. "I wish I could look like you in a dress."
In that moment, my heart went out to my sister. I wish she could see how beautiful she was. Just because she was a little on the heavier side meant nothing. Weight does not correlate with beauty. Katie has had guys fuck her over and be rude to her about her weight. And I'm sure her having three sisters that are on the thinner side fucks with her head.
"Katie, you are gorgeous. And would look incredible in this dress." I said, giving my sister a hug.
Ava liked the dress. A lot.
"You must like this dress a lot, you keep looking at me." I said to Ava as we drove down to the city.
Ava rolled her eyes and smiled. She looked gorgeous. She had on a sparkly gold mini dress and her hair was pin straight. I couldn't stop looking at her either.
"I don't usually get to see you in a dress. You look amazing." she said as she drove.
Ava's friend Tony was one of those people that I just liked immediately. That was kind of rare for me, I tended to not like people that much and be a big stand off-ish. I had stayed at Tony's apartment after the Halloween party, but was really tired afterwards and we didn't really interact. But he welcomed me with open arms for his New Year's Eve party, which I really appreciated. I realized, looking around the dimly lit room of the apartment that Tony had decked out in a bunch of shimmery decorations, that most of Ava's friends were absolutely gay. I should've seen it coming with her.
"You look so much like Megan Fox." Tony said to me, "You're so hot. If we both weren't gay, I would smash." he handed me a glass of champagne.
"Are you hitting on my girlfriend?" Ava joked around with him.
My girlfriend. It still felt really good to hear Ava say that.
"Maybe I am. What are you going to do about it?" Tony laughed and winked at Ava. He was wearing a dark purple shimmery button up. He also had on gold makeup. Tony was about as flamboyant as they come- and I really liked that about him.
Tony had about 20 people at his apartment. I stuck with Ava the whole night, but still interacted with almost everyone there. I kept thinking that April would be proud of me for being social and actually talking to people rather than just looking at my phone or getting in my own head.
At around 11, a very familiar face walked in. One that I was not expecting at all. But Tony ran over to her in delight.
"Gabi! I'm so glad you could make it tonight."
There was Gabi- my sisters former roommate. Former "suspect" of her missing. Though we had each other's numbers, we hadn't spoken since the night I met her.
Gabi pulled away from Tony's hug, smiled at him, and then we locked eyes. She looked just as shocked to see me as I was to see her. I could see Ava looking at the two of us out of the corner of my eye.
Gabi had on a black button up tucked into black jeans. She looked fresh. Clean. Put together.
"Do you know her?" Ava mumbled to me.
"That's Gabi. April's old roommate." I said back.
"That makes sense now. Tony would mention his older half sister, Gabi. About some of her legal troubles too." Ava said, looking at Gabi.
Did she think Gabi was attractive? I couldn't help but think that.
Gabi walked over Ava and I.
"Josephine, I didn't expect you to know my brother." Gabi said. She was tall compared to me and even taller compared to Ava.
"My girlfriend here does." I turned to Ava.
Gabi looked between the two of us. "You know, April did mention you were gay before." she then put her hand out to Ava, "Nice to meet you, I'm Gabi."
"Ava. Likewise." she said, and smiled at Gabi.
"You might've heard I was the most wanted for the Fiori family here, but that isn't the case anymore I hope?" Gabi turned to me.
"No. My family seems to have accepted that you have nothing to do with it all." I said to Gabi.
"Good." she grinned, "Well tonight, let's party."
"Not too hard, Gabi. You're supposed to be sober." Tony said, overhearing what Gabi was saying.
"Yeah, from cocaine. Champagne isn't cocaine." Gabi said, and grabbed a glass from the ones lined up on the dining room table.
"Guess you're staying here tonight." Tony rolled his eyes at Gabi.
A few minutes later as Ava was talking to her friend Yvonne, I went into the kitchen to grab a small snack for her. She requested something salty.
Tony was in the kitchen pouring himself a glass of wine.
"I just wanted to thank you- for believing Gabi that she had nothing to do with your sister going missing- which I am so sorry for, by the way." Tony said to me, catching me off guard.
"Oh yeah, of course. I could tell she was genuine about not having anything to do with it." I said to him.
"It meant a lot to her. Gabi's whole life she's gotten into trouble, but she really is a good person. She just needs people to believe in her." Tony said, taking a sip of his wine.
"I'm glad I could do that for her." I said.
When I went back out to the living room, Gabi had joined Ava and Yvonne in conversation. Ava was laughing at something Gabi was saying.
"I got you some kettle chips." I said, handing a plate over to Ava.
"Thank you, that sounds amazing right now." Ava smiled at me. Her smile still melted my heart.
"What a good girlfriend you are." Gabi chuckled, looking at me for a second longer than she probably should have. I noticed Ava looking.
"What can I say, I love her." I said, and gave Ava a kiss on the cheek.
And then at Midnight we kissed. And for some reason, as I pulled away from Ava's embrace, I got this weird feeling. A feeling that April was still out there- welcoming the new year in. It was a powerful feeling that gave me chills.
"Are you okay, babe?" Ava looked at me.
"Yeah...I just got this weird feeling that April is still out here somewhere. I don't know...I probably sound ridiculous." I said.
"No. You don't. Trust that feeling." Ava said, and kissed me again.
The night went on and we kept drinking. Tony said we could stay over since we had a longer drive back and he didn't want Ava driving wasted.
The two of us spent more time with Gabi as the night went on, and I'm not quite sure when things took this slight turn, but the atmosphere seemed to get...flirty. Between all three of us in a way. The looks that were shared. The slight touches. Like Gabi putting her hand on mine or Ava's knee. And I thought it would bother me, but it didn't. Gabi had a very forward and flirty personality. I am forward, but not very flirty. Gabi was. She cracked a few jokes about us having a threesome at one point. Ava and I looked at each other. The three of us were sitting on the couches. Ava was next to me, and Gabi was across from us.
"You look like you're considering it." Gabi smirked at us. She had a beer in hand.
Ava looked at me, "I-I don't know."
Wait, was this going to happen?
I knew I was horny. And that I wanted Ava. But Gabi seemed to want the two of us. At once. Should we be adventurous and try this out?
"How about we go to the bedroom and see what happens." Gabi suggested. "No pressure though."
I nodded. And Ava followed suit. We followed Gabi to the second bedroom, hand in hand.
"You don't have to do this if you don't want to." I whispered to Ava.
"I think it could be fun." she said back, and I squeezed her hand.
We shut the door to the bedroom, which reeked of weed. Whoever lived in this room was definitely a stoner, with the Bob Marley poster and tapestry up that I could see even in the dark.
I wasn't expecting Gabi to push me up against the wall and kiss my neck, but that's exactly what she did. It seemed like she wanted me. I looked over at Ava, looking at us, wide eyed. I was trying to not close my eyes in pleasure as Gabi's tongue caressed my neck.
She then moved her way up and her lips met mine. They were soft, and tasted minty. I saw Gabi's hand reach out to Ava and start to caress the side of her dress. Which sparked something inside me I didn't like. Gabi also was seemingly taking full control of this situation.
I was still against the wall. Gabi put her hand on my breast and started teasing with me as she then moved her lips over to Ava's neck. Seeing Ava close her eyes in pleasure and breathe heavy was making me horny. But I wanted to be the one doing it to her. Not someone else.
"I'm so sorry, Gabi. I can't do this." Ava pulled away from her.
I looked at Ava, and she looked at me.
"Well, if both parties are not down than I obviously will not continue." Gabi took a step back, "It's okay, I get it. Threesomes can be weird."
"I'm really sorry." Ava said softly.
"It's fine, Ava. Truly." Gabi said to her, and I could tell she meant it. "However though, it did seem like your friend Yvonne would be down for some fun. Mind if I go find her?"
"Go for it." Ava chuckled, looking down. I was feeling relief.
After Gabi exited the room, Ava turned to me. "I'm sorry."
"Would you stop fucking apologizing. I didn't want to do that either." I said.
Ava looked up at me in surprised, "You didn't?"
"No. Especially after seeing her kiss your neck. I just wanted that to be me."
"I felt that after I saw her just straight up kissing you, it felt...weird."
"So I guess we are just sticking to each other, huh?" I chuckled.
"I'm more than fine with that." Ava winked at me, and I stepped toward her. I wanted my girlfriend. No one else.
