CHAPTER EIGHTTEEN
❝ tunnel ❞

the seven boys were running towards the training field like a pack of wolves. they were asked by their parents to be there as soon as possible. though no one knew why, they rushed towards the training field without any questions.
"felix? jiseon? what're you guys doing here?" jeongin asked.
"we have to keep jiseon safe." felix said.
although the others were shocked at felix interacting with them, they asked no unrelated questions that would change the topic of the important situation.
"what happened?" chan asked.
"red phantom and scarlet venom are here." jiseon explained.
"they're here to get jiseon's abilities." felix said.
"there's an underground tunnel leading to a lair we can hide in the old common room of the juniors." seungmin said.
"we don't know for sure, though. those were rumors from the seniors." seungmin proceeded to say.
"doesn't matter. we have to go now." minho said, leading the group inside the building.
the nine teens sprinted to the forgotten common room of the juniors. the old wooden doors creaked as they opened, slightly terrifying the teenagers. pushing the door open, it revealed an ample room. everything was either covered in a white dusty cloth or furnitures covered in thick grime.
"start looking for a trap door." hyunjin said.
"over here!"
once jisung opened the said trap door, the others ran towards the corner of the room — a square hole evident on the floor, leading to a set of stairs going down, into the dark.
"why can't chan just teleport us to the secret lair?" jiseon asked, staring down at the open trap door.
"well, chan can only teleport to a certain place if he had already seen that place. in short, he can only teleport to a place he can visualize." seungmin said.
"sadly." chan replied to seungmin.
"so, who'll go first?" hyunjin asked.
"i will. i can provide us light." jiseon said.
the other boys couldn't help but mentally thank the lass for being brave enough to go down the eerie set of dirtied stairs. in truth, most of them were scared of the dark but, of course they wouldn't admit it.
jiseon created a small flare of fire, lighting up the way down. the youngest of the nine watched in awe as the flittering fire hovered above jiseon's fingers.
jeongin had never seen anything as beautiful as the girl's abilities before. it astounded him to see the amazing sparks of the fiery red gas forming together in flames. he couldn't help but be envious and compare his abilities to her's.
