Friend

Ala sais na ng gabi nang makauwi ako sa amin. Tila ngayon ko lang naramdaman ang pagod, binagsak ko ang sarili sa aking kama at sandaling tinitigan ang puting kisame ng aking kuwarto.

Honestly, I didn't expect us to stay there that long, lalo na't hindi naman ako maka-shoot ng bola. But Aedion kept on teaching me, as if he wouldn't let us leave there hanggang 'di ako nakaka-shoot. Tuwang-tuwa ako nang sunod-sunod akong naka-shoot. Aedion teased me for being too happy because of it, which led me to challenge him. Ayaw pa niyang pumayag no'ng una, pero kalaunan ay um-oo din.

He didn't do anything but to guard me, preventing me from shooting the ball. I felt so frustrated. Hindi lang dahil sa height difference namin na nagpapahirap sa akin na mag-shoot, but also because he kept on teasing me with a smug look on his face. Tuwing nakakalagpas nga ako sa pagbabantay niya ay pakiramdam ko, pinagbibigyan nalang niya ako.

Pagod na pagod matapos ang halos isang oras na paglalaro, samantalang parang wala lang iyon kay Aedion. He even bought me a drink and starts to use 'po' and 'opo' when I was starting to rant on how unfair our game was. Kasi s'yempre, ball player siya at shooting guard pa! Anong laban ko sa kaniya?

I rose up when I remembered what he told me before we parted ways. I took out my cellphone from the pocket of my jeans at the back and quickly typed a message for him.

Yuliana:
I got home.

My heart starts picking up its pace when I successfully send him the message. He told me to inform him when I get home earlier. Wala lang iyon sa akin no'ng una, siguro dahil masyadong napagod. Ngayon ko lang talaga napagtanto kung ano ang pinapagawa niya.

I don't know why my hearts racing right now and my cheeks heating up. Marahil ay dahil ito ang unang beses kong gawin ito. I never informed my friends like this before, nor my parents cuz my drivers would do that for me.

Or maybe because these things are normally done by couples?

Namilog ang mga mata ko. I shook my head a couple of times. My cheeks flushed. Friends do these too, Yuri! Pwede ba? Huwag mong lagyan ng ibang ibig sabihin 'to!

My heart almost jumped out of my ribcage when my cellphone's screen lights up for a notification. It was Aedion, he's online now and he sent me a message. Lalong uminit ang pisngi ko. I felt nervous for some reason as I opened his message through Messenger.

Umuwang ang labi ko. I frowned as I saw a little thumbs up icon under my message. Wow, hanggang sa chat ang sungit pa rin.

Slowly, a smile formed on my lips. Umiling muli ako at napabuntong hininga. Nguli akong nagtipa ng mensahe.

Yuliana:
Ikaw po?

I giggled as I clicked the send button. I was trying to mimic the way he used 'po' to me earlier to tease me. Ayan, para maramdaman mo din 'yong ginagawa mo sa akin kanina. I smirked on that thought.

His small icon quickly moved down to my message, indicating that he has seen it already. Sandaling lumitaw ang tatlong dot bago lumabas ang sagot niya. Naglaho ang ngisi sa aking labi ng mabasa ang mensahe niya. I felt like I just did something to make myself getting teased more by him.

Aedion:
Nakauwi na po ako.

I can almost imagine his face right now. He probably has that smug look on his serious face again. Ang yabang talaga...

Hindi na ako nag message ulit. Pakiramdam ko kasi, kung itutuloy ko ang pag-uusap namin ay mas lalo lang niya akong aasarin. I smiled again. Kainis.
