Reunited

Lucy's arms buckled underneath her as she sobbed just as her tears began to run dry adrenaline kicked in and lucy began to crawl toward Natsu into the cell. Her hands clawing at the rubble on top and around Natsu, Gray and Erza came to help but Lucy was so focused she barely noticed them. Finally, she could see all of him and gray and Erza carefully moved him from outside the cell. Lucy smiled and relaxed he didn't seem to be hurt that bad at least not for Natsu's standards. She took a deep breath and relaxed some more before her body got heavy and her eyes drooped and everything was dark.

Natsu woke up first, his head pounding and feeling heavy, he groaned loudly and his body was heavy he could hardly lift his hand. He slowly opened his eyes and began to look around the first thing he saw clearly was Erza's scarlet hair before his eyes focused and he could see her fully. She sat in a chair next to his bed a plate of strawberry cake in one hand and her fork in another. Natsu wondered what she was doing here and how he had ended up in a bed when he realized he was in Fairy Tail. He sat up straight his aching body detesting this with various pains. 

"Lucy! Lucy! where is Lucy?" Natsu asked panicked just as Gray walked through the door 

"calm down flame brain, she's recovering at home with Levy taking care of her, she was fine just exhausted" He spoke as he entered 

"you, however, have a lot of healing to do, you won't be able to use too much of your magic for a while it needs to replenish, it's as if you were sucked dry" Erza explained causing Natsu to flinch.  Natsu stood wobbly on his legs one arm around his stomach and the other using the bedpost to lean on. Erza shook her head with a knowing smirk, 

"Gray seems you will have to escort Natsu to Lucy, or otherwise he is going to kill himself trying," she commented still idly enjoying her cake. Gray sighed and tried to take Natsu's arm. Natsu however glared at the two of them and jerked his arm back. 

"I don't need your help" he snapped before pushing off from the bedpost and taking a staggering step forward. Every muscle in him ached as if he had torn every muscle fiber in his body, each movement was an electric shock of pain-causing Natsu to gasp. He grit his teeth and took a big breath to relax before he began to fully walk, still one arm protectively around his stomach as if that would somehow hold him together. Gray followed him anyway not really talking, his hands in his pants. When they had made it a quarter of the way to Lucy's Gray finally spoke up

" you know, you can still come to me to talk to flame brain" Natsu gave him a side-eyed glance 

" I know" 

"Good because you scared everyone and it's not fair to leave me alone with that dragon princess." This caused Natsu to chuckle and they finished the walk in silence, Natsu stopped outside the building, he looked up at Lucy's window which was slightly cracked and realized he couldn't get up there in his condition. 

"um, Gray... I've never gone through Lucy's door before," he admitted, this caused Gray to laugh and motion Natsu to the door of the apartment building. The pair of them went in together and walked up the steps before stopping in front of a door. Gray stepped back waiting for Natsu, Natsu knocked on the door which was strange for him to do and suddenly just before the door opened he could smell Gajeel. The door opened and Natsu immediately found a rush of strength before he shoved Gajeel out of the way and beelined for Lucy's bed. She was asleep her hair a mess and her mouth parted open looking peaceful as ever. He smiled happily knowing she was alright and blocked out the annoying Gajeel and Gray. Levy came up beside him and smiled knowingly, she placed a hand on Natsu's shoulder 

"We are leaving for the night since you are here, but she's perfectly fine, you, however, are not. So get some rest, I will be back before dawn mister." she teased removing her hand from him and then driving the two other boys out of the apartment. As the door clicked closed Natsu grabbed Lucy's hand and planted a small kiss on it. He thought to crawl in bed with her before he saw that he was still extremely dirty. He grumbled to himself dirt from an adventure in the outdoors is one thing but a filthy cage was another. He went to the bathroom and showered hoping the hot water would help his muscles. He even bathed in Lucy's girly smells with a spare washrag. Once he was clean, he gently crawled over Lucy and laid down in the bed under the covers he pulled her close tucking her into him and kissed her head. In her sleep, she made a happy humming sound which caused Natsu to smile before he fell asleep.
