The next couple days were seemingly pleasant.

It became apparent to Rika and I, that the chaos that always seems to envelop in the host club is a daily thing. How our plain old cousin manages to keep up her sanity is literally beyond me.

Kyouya has been on my mind a bit more than necessary, but since what happened he’s been busy or too reserved to even say hi to me… I’m not sure why, but his lack of attention has been tugging on the back of my brain.

At the moment, Rika is walking me to my new therapist’s office. It’s a beautiful Saturday afternoon; the sun shining brightly warming my skin, the birds sang softly, and it was just my dear sister and I.

I sported a simple white and black sundress, due to the nice weather while Rika is wearing jean shorts and a black tank top, her hair pulled up in a pony tail.

~Do you think she’ll be nice…? ~ I thought tentatively.

Rika glanced over at me and smiled softly.

“I’m sure she will, I mean it is her job, right?”

I nodded and continued walking by her side, my hands folded behind my back.

But even though what she said is true, I still can’t help but to be nervous. Besides Haruhi, Uncle Ranka, and Rika; no one else knows the truth behind what happened. Now there is someone new to the inner circle, since my old therapist had to give this one my file.

The office came into view and I swallowed the lump and stood up a bit taller, wanting to make a good impression. It was a mental hospital, mainly built for mental and emotional related studies and doctors. It’s also the best one for miles and in walking distance of our new home.

We walked in side-by-side as Rika took my hand in hers. A chill ran up my spine at the familiar hospital settings. The white tiled floors, smells of chemicals and sick people, and the echoes of pounding feet against the floors.

Rika held on tightly to my hand and led me to the front desk where a tall boy stood in our way of the sign-in sheet. Rika obnoxiously coughed to get his attention, but he didn’t turn around or even flinch; he seemed to be so absorbed in whatever he was writing he didn’t notice us.

Finally, she groaned in annoyance.

“Look buddy, I need you to get out of my way!” she exclaimed.

He turned around and I was so surprised I managed to gasp quietly.

~What the hell is Kyouya doing here!?~ I squealed inertly.

His gaze widened a bit as he looked us over then rested on me. Decked out in a simple pair of jeans and white button-up, he took on a more relaxed stance than in his school uniform.

“Well, I can see even outside of school you are just as rude, Rika.”

She scoffed and shoved him out of the way, signing us in.

He sighed, then gazed at me again and smiled softly, causing an almost foreign warmth spread to my cheeks.

“It’s nice to see you, Suzu. I can say, I feel graced by your unexpected appearance, but may I ask what you’re doing at a mental hospital?” he asked, cocking his head in an innocent gesture.

Oh geez, how do I explain this? Before I could, Rika made an appearance her hand resting on my shoulder in a protective stance.

“I should ask you the same question. You finally getting treated for your over bearing bullshit?” she snapped.

Normally, Kyouya would just ignore Rika’s swearing or insults, but for some reason he flinched from her words.

I glanced over my shoulder and gave her an annoyed stare that she noticed with surprise.

“My family owns this hospital. I came by to collect some business related documents for my father. Now, that I’ve shared my personal business, could you answer my question?” he said politely.

I nodded and brought my hands up from being folded behind my back.

~I’ve come to see my new therapist. ~ I signed.

He nodded and smiled again.

“Alright. Maybe I can help keep you from waiting forever. I hear they’ve been busy lately.”

Waiting?

He waved down a nurse who blushed from his obvious attractive appearance. They exchanged incoherent words before she bowed and scurried down a hallway to our right. He turned back to us, still smiling and offered me his hand.

Rika let go of my shoulder and waved me off and I took his hand after a moment’s hesitation. As he led me down a long hallway, I couldn’t help but think about his warm hand holding my small fingers. It was without rough spots and was smooth and warm despite his domineer.

He led me into a smaller waiting room where only two others sat. Walking up to the desk, he finally let my hand go.

“What is your therapist’s name?” he asked briskly.

~ Tina Brown ~ I signed.

He asked the receptionist a couple questions then pointed to the door next to the receptionist’s window.

“Just go through there and she’ll lead you to Tina’s office. I believe I just saved you a twenty-minute wait.”

I smiled up at him and to his surprise, wrapped my arms around his torso and squeezed gently before pulling away and walking through the door he directed me to.

Despite how cold he acts, I know he is nothing like that. Not truly; if only I could find out what makes him act so cool and collected…reserved from others.

I barely know him, but lately he has been on my mind constantly. A constant tugging at the back of my thoughts.

“Go ahead and knock, dear.”

The receptionist left me in front of Tina’s office, leaving me with those words and I breathed deeply.

Knocking softly, it took a minute before the door swung open to reveal a woman that looks to be in her mid-twenties with shoulder length dirty blonde hair and green eyes that sat behind a pair of glasses.

She smiled and offered her hand out.

“It’s nice to meet you, Suzu. My name is Tina and I’ll be sitting down with you from now on.”

Her voice was sweet and warm and I couldn’t help but smile back and shook her hand attentively.

I walked in to a small office with two chairs facing each other and soft green walls and pale carpet.

“Go ahead and pick a seat. My patients normally have a preference on whether they feel more comfortable sitting in a leather chair or carpeted chair.”

I looked up at her and nervously signed;

~Is this a test…? ~

She chuckled and shook her head.

“No, dear. I just want to make sure you are comfortable.”

I nodded and blushed. God, I shouldn’t be this nervous, I mean she puts her pants on just like I do; one foot at a time.

I sat down in the carpeted chair and crossed my legs as she sat down in the chair across from me and took out a clipboard.

“Okay, Suzu how about we get started…?”
