Hand in hand, you walked with Draco to the Great Hall for breakfast.

You could still hardly believe that he was your boyfriend. After all, you were enemies just a couple weeks ago. Your past self would've never imagined having any romantic feelings for him, so the both of you were still getting used to being around each other so much.

After a brief walk that consisted of Draco talking passionately about quidditch, you made it to the dining hall.

"Alright, I'll see you in class," he said before pressing a quick kiss to your lips.

"See you," you said, smiling lightly to yourself as you watched the handsome boy walk off to the Slytherin table.

You made your way to the Gryffindor table and sat down next to Hermione. Harry and Ron were sat across from you two, and they both greeted you with a nod before continuing their presumably important conversation.

"Hey," Hermione greeted. "How's it going with Draco?"

"It's going pretty well," you shrugged. "I think we're still getting used to each other and getting to know each other better. We're sort of taking it slow, I guess."

"That's good," she nodded. "It's best not to rush stuff like that."

"Exactly," you agreed before a smirk grew upon your lips. "But you and Ron on the other hand..."

"Will you keep it down?" she shushed you. "We're not even a thing yet."

"Yet," you emphasized, making her roll her eyes.

A short moment later, your owl came in and dropped a letter in front of you, and your heart stopped. You already knew that it was from your father. You assumed that he finally found out about your shitty test grade and it was very likely that he was furious with you.

You tried to stop your hands from shaking as you opened the letter.

Y/N,

I found out about your Potions test grade and frankly, I'm disgusted. When you come back home in a few months, I'll be expecting a good explanation because this is completely unacceptable. You're a disgrace to this family and if you continue down this disappointing path, I will be unenrolling you from Hogwarts.

He didn't even bother to sign his name.

You exhaled a shaky breath and blinked away the tears that began to form in the corners of your eyes.

"Are you alright?" Hermione asked.

"Yeah, just...my dad," you replied. "You know how he is."

After breakfast was over, you met Draco outside of the Great Hall so the two of you could walk to class together.

"Hi, love," he said with a small smile. "Ready to go?"

"Mhm," you nodded, trying your best to hide your distress. But, with Draco being the observant person he was, he noticed.

His face softened and he placed a hand on your arm as he spoke, "Hey, you okay?"

"Yeah," you said casually as you grabbed his hand. "C'mon, we're going to be late to class."

Draco's eyebrows furrowed, as he wasn't exactly convinced, but he stayed silent anyway. He hadn't really known you for that long, but he knew you enough to know that you didn't like to be pushed. So, Draco decided to back off for now.

During class, Draco couldn't keep his eyes off of you. He could easily tell something was going on with you. He noticed the way you pretended to pay attention to the lesson when you were really just deep in thought. He also happened to notice the slightly afflicted look on your face, and it was truly bothering him.

He utterly hated seeing you like this.

When class was dismissed and you and Draco packed up your bags, Draco took your hand and brought you out of the classroom.

"Where are we going?" you queried curiously as he started leading you in the opposite direction of your next class.

You furrowed your brows in confusion as Draco brought you to an empty classroom and shut the door behind him. "Draco?"

"Alright, what's going on with you?" he finally spoke, his concerned eyes scanning over your face.

"I..." You considered making something up, just so he wouldn't pity you. However, you concluded that lying to him wouldn't benefit your relationship at all right now.

"It's my father," you sighed. "He found out about my test grade and he threatened to take me out of school if it happens again. And—and who knows what the hell he'll do when I actually come home. God, Draco, I don't know what to do. I'm scared," you breathed out, your lip trembling.

"Oh, angel," he whispered, wrapping his arms around you in a tight embrace. "I'm so sorry."

You returned the hug, looping your arms tightly around Draco's torso as tears started to slip out of your eyes and onto his shoulder. He rubbed your back with one hand as he stroked your hair with the other and placed a kiss to the top of your head.

"Shh, it's alright," he said softly, his heart breaking as he listened to your quiet cries. "No matter what happens, you'll be okay in the end. I'll make sure of it."

He pulled away from the hug, gently wiping your tear-stained cheeks with his thumb before grabbing your hands. "Listen to me. Everything's gonna be okay, alright? I'll be there for you, whatever happens. I promise."

You sighed, smiling sadly. "You're amazing."

He smiled softly at you. "Come here." He brought you in for another hug, the both of you letting out relieved sighs.

He kissed your temple and whispered at once, "Everything will be alright."

And, as you unapologetically melted into his comforting embrace, you believed him.
