Hermione's POV

"you bastard!" I shouted, hitting him with the prophet I was holding

*a day earlier*

"you can't all go in, Mr. Malfoy may only have one person with him and he has requested Zabini" me and Blaise both stepped forward, glaring at each other.

At least 30 other Slytherins had found their way up here 10 minutes after I had arrived, wren wasn't good at doing her job

"oh yes, Ms. Zabini" she added I smirked and followed Pomphrey inside "he is in that bed on the right" she pointed at the one in the far corner

I nodded and followed where she had requested I go

"oh stop the act, I know your perfectly fine Draco" I laughed, sitting on the knobbly chair by his not very comfy looking hospital bed

"I'm not acting" he muttered grumpily

"mhm, I've known you forever Draco, do you think I don't know when you fake injuries?"

he slouched further in his bed "fine, but I actually am not faking it, it does hurt... just not as much as I'm making it seem" he added quietly

"exactly, now-" I was interrupted by Pomphrey walking through the white curtains surrounding us

"Ms. Zabini, would you please make sure Mr. Malfoy takes one of these pills every meal, and this ointment is applied once a day and whenever it's hurting more than usual? I don't trust him with the responsibility" she smiled kindly as I took the medicines from her

"of course, not to worry" she smiled again and left

"is Hermione taking care of me? Aw how cute" I almost laughed at this comment, trying not to, I removed his bandage

"shut up, let me see that... urh that's just gross.. sorry that's a really nasty scratch" I grimaced, adding the green cream to the large gash on his arm

the neon ointment sizzled before disappearing completely and he grabbed my hand

"Sorry, did that hurt?" he nodded, seething through his teeth, obviously trying not to act like a baby

"yes obviously"

*normal time*

I had been let stay overnight, Draco was whining about his arm and convinced Pomphrey to let me stay to 'look after him'

"it's not my fault you left the door open that day" he smirked

"you know that was entirely your fault, if you weren't slightly hurt right now I would punch you" I muttered, annoyed at the fact he brought the most embarrassing moment of my life in public

"you wouldn't either way, you love-" we were interrupted by Pomphrey again

"Mr. Malfoy, you and Ms. Zabini may leave now, you have classes to attend, however, you must leave that cast on, only taking it off for when Ms. Zabini puts the ointment there for a week" he nodded and stood up, I did the same and we departed the Dettol-smelling room

*

We were in the great hall, meant to be having a study session with our year and year 4, but we aren't studying, instead, Draco was complaining to random girls about how much his arm hurts and how he 'could've died'

"does it hurt terribly Draco?" Astoria asked, she is one of the now many girls fawning over him, he nodded with a grave expression

"It comes and it goes. Still, consider myself lucky according to madam Pomphrey another minute or two and I uh, I could've lost my arm, couldn't possibly do any homework for weeks"
