Hermione's POV // June 24th
Naturally, we told everyone what happened under the trap door, even made some rumours up and as usual, the news spread like wildfire across Hogwarts.
Me, Wren, Blaise and Draco were already quite popular because of our families but when they found out what I did we became the most popular Slytherins even though we're only year 1's.
but of course, potter and his friends had to explain what really happened and now they were the most popular Gryffindors
It's the last feast today, tomorrow morning everyone leaves for summer break to come back the next school year.
Slytherin won the house cup and we were eating contently to finally have something go right this year, that is until-
McGonagall tapped her glass to get the attention of everyone
"Another year gone and now, as I understand it the house cup needs awarding and the points stand thus, in fourth place Gryffindor with 312 points"
as if on cue half the Slytherin table started whispering and sniggering at them while the other two houses clapped politely
"third place, Hufflepuff with 352 points"
every house clapped politely again
"in second place, Ravenclaw with 426 points"
there was clapping and some cheering this time
"and in first place with 472 points... Slytherin house"
no one else really clapped or cheered other than our house and Hufflepuff, we didn't need them to, we were loud enough for 6 houses to have been cheering and clapping
"yes, yes well done Slytherin, well done Slytherin, however, recent events must be taken into account and I have a few last-minute points to award" you mean, your probably taking our house cup away to give it to your favourite students?
"to miss Pansy Parkinson for the cool use of intellect when others were in grave peril" your gonna be in grave peril soon because of me if you do what I think your doing old man
BECAUSE I DID THAT
"50 points"
seriously? For being smart?
"second to Mr, Ron Weasley for the best-played game of chess that Hogwarts has seen these many years, 50 points"
ok now you're being stupid, for chess? You're giving him 50 points for a game of CHESS?
"and third, Mr Harry Potter for pure nerve and outstanding courage I award Gryffindor house 60 points" ok I get that one, he defeated voldy again but still
"and finally, it takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to your enemy's, but a great deal more to stand up to your friends I award 10 points to Neville Longbottom"
WHAT ON GODS GREEN EARTH, that's completely unfair
"assuming that my calculations are correct I believe that a change of decoration is in order" he clapped his hands and the Slytherin flags turned to that horrible red and gold with lions flags
just to rub it in more
"Gryffindor wins the house cup"
he announced there was an uproar of approval from every house other than ours, ours had an uproar of things like
"I SWEAR THEY BROKE LIKE, 50 SCHOOL RULES"
"THAT'S SO UNFAIR"
"WHY BRING US UP JUST TO BRING US DOWN??"
"THAT'S BIASED"
"YOU COULD'VE DONE THAT BEFORE"
"WHY DO THAT"
"WHAT THE FU-"
and a lot of colourful words from the older ones
As we left the great hall I saw snape having a bit of a heated argument with McGonagall
as he should
"that's so unfair, why did he do that?" I muttered
"because he's biased"
"never mind, who cares about a stupid house cup anyway? We need to make sure everything is ready for tomorrow"

"this one is empty guys"
We opened the train compartment door and put our trunks in the suitcase racks above
"do you think potter and his friends are gonna be gloating about that next year?" Draco asked,
"of course they will, but let's not think about that I'm just excited to get back to my comfy bed back home" I smiled at the thought of my queen-sized memory-foam bed
"that's all you think about, isn't it? Your bed and food"
"well, what else would you want to think about?"
The rest of the train ride was filled with laughs, jokes, and Blaise accidentally hitting his head on the doorway three times
We didn't give the golden trio (that's what some Gryffindors were calling them) a second thought...
