The girls had managed to haul themselves below deck again where Kiara set up makeshift beds of blankets to sleep on. The place was cramped and small as they huddled together in the silence of the night.

"Hey, B?" Kiara questioned into the deafening quietness.

"Hey, Kie," She hummed back softly.

"Can I ask you something?" The Carrera girl shifted over slightly to face her.

"No," Bianca deadpanned, her eyes still closed.

Kiara merely ignored the comment, "Why are you still with Rafe?" At this, Bianca's eyes opened, a frown settling on her face, "I mean, he's controlling and manipulative and most of all- he's a grade A asshole- no offence Sarah."

The blonde scoffed, nodding her head in agreement, "None taken."

Bianca shut her mouth just as quickly as she opened it. She couldn't deny that Kiara was right- he treated her like shit and she took it because she didn't know any better. Just the thought of breaking up with Rafe would have her mother pass out on the kitchen floor and her throw her father into a fit of rage, but what the struck her was that she continually put her heart and soul into pleasing them when they couldn't care less about her. I mean, her mother cared more about her image- Midsummers was clearly evidence of that- and her father was willing to let everyone believe she was a coke addict to protect himself.

But it wasn't so simple–– because yes, Rafe treated her like shit, but for some reason unknown to her and the universe, she couldn't stop loving him. At last, Bianca forced her lips to move, "I don't know."

"You should break up with him," Sarah offered quietly, "You deserve better, you don't have to take his bullshit anymore."

"Yeah," Kiara hummed as she placed a comforting hand on the girl's, "You have us now."

Bianca didn't know what it was about what Kiara said, but it made the corners of her eyes prick with tears. She'd always had Sarah but this was new, the Pogues weren't like the Death Squad. For once, she had friends whose lives didn't completely revolve around Rafe Cameron.

"Sometimes," Sarah shifted closer to the girls and placed a soft kiss to her best friend's cheek, hoping she wouldn't get a black eye for doing so, "Two people in the universe who aren't meant for each other find each other and it's just not meant to be."

After a few moments, Bianca chuckled lightly, lifting her head up to look at the girl, "How high are you right now?"

Kiara laughed softly when Sarah burst into inconsolable giggles, "Zooted."

"Hey, Sarah?" Kiara muttered on the other side of Bianca who was laying in the middle.

"Hey, Kiara," Sarah hummed.

"Promise me you won't bail on John B," The Carrera girl said what'd been on her mind the whole night, "He's not just some other guy and he really, really likes you."

"I won't," Sarah admitted.

"Promise me," She added softly.

"I promise," The blonde replied with so much conviction that made Kiara satisfied with her answer.

"Hey, Kiara," Bianca hummed.

"Hey, B," The Carrera girl turned to give her a small smile.

"I'm sorry for everything," She huffed softly, "And I didn't mean what I said about looking in the mirror- you're beautiful."

"It's okay," Kiara chuckled softly, "And thanks for getting John B his job back."

At this, Sarah lifted her head slightly, her eyes widened in shock as Bianca responded with, "It's whatever," Sarah placed her head back onto the pillow- a small smile on her face, she didn't know Bianca had done that.

"Hey, B?" Sarah piped up.

"What?" Bianca snapped, rolling her eyes- all the 'hey' bullshit was getting on her nerves.

"Does it bother you," The Cameron girl trailed off, "You know, when people don't see the good- just the mean part?"

"No," Bianca hummed at her genuine question, "We're all the bad guy in someone's fairty tale."

After all, what actually hurt wasn't that Sarah had told Kiara all those misconstrued lies about her, but that Kiara actually believed them. Because for her to believe it without hesitation, without even asking Bianca if it were true, meant that she thought it wasn't completely impossible for the girl to do something like that. And maybe that spoke more about Bianca's character than she initially thought it did.

The three girls lapsed into a comfortable silence after that, eyes drooping shut as the night closed in on them.

Suddenly, Kiara added, "Also, I'm sorry I called the cops."

Sarah's eyes shot open at the same time Bianca scoffed, "I knew it- you bitch!"

The girls burst into inconsolable giggles as Kiara cried, "You should've invited me!"

"So you called the cops!?" Sarah chuckled loudly, grabbing the pillow beneath her head and slamming it over the Carrera girl's face.

And just like that their pinky promise had been reinstated- maybe one day they would come back to that beach and watch those turtle babies crawl out into the ocean. Whatever happened, at least they had each other.
