I stood silent as I processed the man's words. It was impossible to ignore how similar the older man looked to Santiago. The man was quite attractive in a mature way but he didn't look that old. He was also covered with tattoos like Santiago, but he looked even more elegant.

The man had a satisfied expression, taking Santiago's victory. He stood and walked until he was standing in front of me. When he grabbed my hand my eyes went to Santiago who didn't look worried. Instead, he looked annoyed in the way that an embarrassed child would be. The man placed a kiss on the back of my hand and gave me a charming smile.

"I'm so sorry for not introducing myself. I am Santi's father but you can call me Armando." He introduced himself, letting go of my hand and walking to the door. "I'll let you two discuss the idea. If you decide to come I'll have a plane ready for you in two days' time."

Santiago or Santi as his dad called him nodded.

"Arrivederci, figlio mio." Armando waved and with that, he was gone.

I turned to Santiago after a few moments of silence, the two of us staring at each other. Milo was still snoring quietly in Santiago's arms. "Santi?"

He nodded his head. "It's my birth name, it's Italian. When my mother and father divorced, my mother decided to call me Santiago to spite my father, I guess it stuck."

I laughed at that, trying to keep my volume at a minimum. Santiago smiled as he saw the lightened expression on my face. My heart fluttered in my chest but unsuccessfully I tried to ignore it.

"Whose wedding is it?" I asked nervously, my eyes meeting his again.

He read my expression quickly jumping to clear things up. "Not mine, if that's what you're thinking."

I looked away and took the seat his father was previously sitting in. I felt relieved that it wasn't his, but I didn't know if I had the right to. "I'm not sure how the mafia works but I've heard stuff about arranged marriages and such."

Santiago quickly shook his head. "My father left marriage up to me. It's my cousin's wedding. But if you want to go, we can. Plus, It'd probably be safer to leave the area for the time being, just in case." Santiago said the word cousin with such malice but continued his words with a defeated sigh.

"As long as there's nothing dangerous in Italy. Then we'll go, but only then." I tilted my head to the side my eyes moving to Milo.
