10 - BRINGING BACK

Brielle Aiko's POV

Nakatungo lamang ako habang nandito sa harapan ni kuya Adam. I feel embarrassed after knowing that it was really Harvey Velasquez, my past butler, who sent him a threat because of my Dad. Shit! I'm fucking doomed as I felt his glare at me right now. Napapanguso na lamang tuloy ako habang pinaglalaruan ang kuko ko.

‘Hindi ko alam ang sasabihin ko!’

Talagang nakakahiya yun lalo pa't si Dad yung nag-utos. Naiilang kong sinalubong ang masamang tingin niya sakin pero napaiwas lamang ulit ako at napalunok. I'm trembling honestly. I can't say anything... Probably that was really the reason why he looked mad.

“So, that Velasquez is your past butler? The one who put illegal stuff in my company.” kapagkuwan ay sabi niya.

Dahan-dahan na lamang akong napatango. “It was Dad's order. I'm sorry. I'm sorry talaga, kuya. Wala akong alam dun---”

“They must be afraid that I would touch you. Tsk.” kapagkuwan ay pagputol niya. “Hindi ako napatol sa bata.” sabi niya.

Natigilan naman ako dun at napatingin sa kaniya. “I'm not bata.” I said to him. “Do you remember when you told me that I'm not a child anymore when you danced with me on my 18th birthday?” I asked.

Tumingin siya sakin. “I do remember. But I'm taking it back 'cause even you're already 22, you're still acting like a child.” sabi niya at tumayo. “I won't just stay still, Brielle, if something happened to my company because of what they did. Tell to your Dad that I respect him so that means I respect you too. But there is a difference between respecting you as my secretary and respecting you as a Princess. Tell them too that they should respect my does or privacy because I'm not like they totally think. Maliwanag ba?” seryosong sabi niya sakin.

Napatungo na lamang ako. “You're just a bit older than me that's why you're saying that I'm bata.” mahina kong sabi.

“I heard that.” he said.

Agad naman akong napatunghay at pilit na ngumiti. “I will tell that to them, kuya. Don't worry.” I said.

“Enough with kuya, Brielle.” he said.

Tumaas lamang ang sulok ng labi ko. “Then, shall I call you just Adam instead? Para naman hindi mo na ako makita bilang bata.” sabi ko.

Dahil dun ay kunot noo niya akong tinignan. “Do you think I'm kidding, Brielle? Mukhang nakakalimutan mo ang rules ko nung unang araw mo dito?” tanong niya sakin.

Unti-unti na lamang na napawi ang ngiti ko at napalitan ng pilit dahil dun. Medyo nakaramdam lang naman ako ng hiya sa sandaling ito kaya napatungo na lamang ako at napakamot sa ulo ko. He's sometimes suplado pa rin.

“Hehe... I'll go to my work na po...” sabi ko at tumalikod na.

“Tss. Bata.” rinig kong sabi niya.

Napatigil naman ako at agad na napalingon sa kaniya. Naupo na siya sa kaniyang swivel chair at inumpisahan ang trabaho niya.

‘He keeps calling me 'bata'...’

Napanguso na lamang ako bago tumalikod at lumabas na ng kaniyang opisina. Dumeretso na ako sa quarter ko at kagaya niya ay nagtrabaho na rin ako. Marahan na lamang akong napahinga. Tinignan ko ang oras sa relo ko.

“I just hope that no one comes here.” I said, pertaining to women...
