There it was. Through the crumbled building I could see the Attack Titan towering overhead. I wheezed and coughed, desperate to get the dust out of my lungs to breathe. Clouds of dirt and debris surrounded the atmosphere, clogging my airways. Why couldn't I do anything? I felt so stuck and frozen. The Titan's foot stayed close to me, leaving me horrified and unable to move. I could feel the warm steam from his sudden transformation.

My body was convinced that I was suffocating, my throat straining for oxygen. A loud scream rang my ears, this blood-curdling scream could only belong to the man who had been presenting a speech above us a moment ago.

Blood trickled down the side of the Attack Titan's body, splattering on the dusty, cracked floor within seconds of falling. The crimson blood of Willy Tybur spread into a puddle, my eyes dilating at the disgusting sight. Slowly, I was able to become more aware of my surroundings. Falco had been protected by Reiner, who transformed into the armored Titan.

The sound of the grappling hooks on ODM gear retracting entered my ears, making me flinch slightly. I almost forgot about the sound, it had been four years since the last time I heard the sweet melody of the gear after all. But I wasn't present for that time inside the crystalline orb. I felt like I was stuck in that same moment of time for what seemed like forever, the moment I was trapped inside the attack Titan's mouth. It was strange to see everyone looking so oddly different. Eren appeared like he let himself go like he didn't even care anymore. Reiner matured and grew a beard, but he was definitely dead inside. Everyone used to be so happy back in the day, back when we first knew each other. Now, everyone's holding on by a thread, clutching the last bit of sanity they had left. What happened in those four years I was gone? What happened to joyous, determined Eren. Where did that smile go?

The attack Titan walked away from the basement he had just crumbled. Several screams bounced off of the buildings around. I stood up to the best of my ability, but my legs felt the need to crumble. When I finally gained some sort of balance, I began walking out of the broken basement. My legs were shaking, my fingers trembling. It had been a while since the last time I saw the Attack Titan. But something about him changed: his energy was so much more cold and depressing. He also had this cruel aura to him that sent chills down my spine. I missed Eren, the one that I knew four years ago, the one who longed for freedom, the one who was determined for change. I'm sure he was still all of those things, just fighting for different things - the wrong things.

Every sound that I heard was muffled, but still clear as day strangely. I could hear the sound of gavel bouncing off the ground by the contact of the feet of fleeing citizens. And the sound of crying children who lost the lives of loved ones, mothers, and fathers grieving the deaths of their children. Boulders crashing into the ground, landing on many innocent people.

Again, I heard the zipping sound of ODM gear as I walked around the crazed street. Military squads were running around, doing their best to serve and protect their nation. These soldiers were getting sniped left and right for a reason I didn't know. I didn't understand anything that was taking place. What the hell did I miss while I was in that crystal? My head shot up at the sight of scouts flying above, latching onto buildings to maneuver around. I could only guess this was just the beginning of a terrifying ending.
