Chapter 12

Suddenly, in the middle of the day, a Titan came darting over to the wall preparing to ram it intentionally. I was in the middle of a field of radiant flowers outside the barriers of our villages. Some of the blossoms were fully developed, and others were just about to bloom. As the Titan drew closer with excelling speed, the flowers began to wilt quickly and the sky blazed red like fire and the destruction that was to come.

The Titan had blonde hair, bold blue eyes, and a fit body type. It had no skin, just muscle. It ran closer and closer to the wall fastly and there was no time to do anything but watch. I was utterly terrified and began to try and run back inside the village to tell someone, anyone about the sudden attack. It was like I was running in place, I didn't move an inch. I tried to yell as hard as I could, but nothing came out of my mouth. I attempted to shout even louder, still nothing. What was I supposed to do? I felt completely useless and like a waste of time. It would be all my fault if I let the kingdom become a memory.

Suddenly, the strange, abnormal Titan got severely near me. I remained motionless as I continued to attempt to escape. Everything started to quicken as the tall monster crushed me with its foot.

"...Y/N,..." a muffled voice called.

"...Y/N,..." it continued, the voice getting louder and more echoey.

Instantly, I awoke in a puddle of sweat. Levi had been shaking my shoulder, making an effort to wake me up. It was all a dream? This dream felt so real, I didn't experience anything like this very often. I was still shaken up by the nightmare. "Is everything alright, I've been trying to get your lazy ass up for quite some time," he said restlessly and playfully. His morning voice was very deep, I was pretty surprised. "Yeah, just a horrible dream," I rubbed my forehead.

"Well you're out of it now, so does it still matter? What was your dream about?"

"A-an attack by Titans. Well, a Titan. I felt so helpless, I hate that feeling so much. But it was so realistic, I can't even begin to describe it."

"It's fine, even if there was a strike, we would be able to handle it," he comforted me.

"But could we? No one can say that all of the time. So many people have already told me that. Is it really true though?"

"We can never truly know,"

"I know, that's what scares me. Nothing is ever confirmed until it's over"

"I understand how you feel, sometimes I can't help but think the way you're thinking,"

"How can you not? Doubts just come. I feel like a magnet that just endlessly attracts negative emotions," I sighed.

"It's hard not to feel that way,"

We didn't talk about our kiss the night before. Did it really mean anything? It didn't matter. Even if we did converse about it, what would change? If we were to become more than friends, that would only make things harder if one of us were to die. But still, nothing could change the fact that I was, frankly, in love with him. And either way, it would still hurt a lot if one of us were killed by one of those disgusting, vile creatures.

Throughout the day, I couldn't get the dream out of my mind. Why was it affecting me so much? I had a horrible headache and felt tired. I could tell a lot of people were a bit confused about how I lost so much energy. I was the kind of person to be energetic most of the time, some thought I didn't take our situation seriously.
