The Stars (Yamaguchi x Tsukishima / Yamaguchi x Kageyama) -Haikyu!!-

Chapter 21 - Aftermath -

Everyone cheered when the freckled boy got another service ace. This was just a practice match between Karasuno but the intensity felt like a real match. Tsukishima wanted to run up to Yamaguchi, to compliment him for the serve but Kageyama always beats him to it. The King wrapped his arms around his boyfriend, lifting him up a little as he spun him around with glee before planting a kiss on Yamaguchi's forehead for his winning serve. 

It's been a month since Yamaguchi and Kageyama got back together. The two managed to rekindle their relationship pretty easily. After all, even when they temporarily broke up, they never stop loving each other. It only made their love stronger.

Unfortunately, Yamaguchi and Tsukishima still haven't talked that much since then. They were once always together but now, they can barely even have a conversation. The freckled boy tried to approach him, trying to invite him to a simple lunch or go home together, but he would always refuse.

No matter how much Tsukishima mistreated the freckled boy, he still can't get himself to hate his best friend. He was still his first friend, and he understands him more than anyone. He was the first person he ever loved, and he didn't want to lose him in his life. But it appears they still need some space to process the changes in their life.

The funny thing about providing some space is that you don't know how far or how long you should keep your distance. Do it too soon and it might make things worse. Do it too late and you might become strangers all of the sudden.

"That was a little too high." Tsukishima sweated heavily.

Kageyama grins at the exhausted blocker. "Then jump higher."

Despite what happened, Kageyama and Tsukishima seemed to be normal in the court but doesn't want anything to do with each other outside the court, understandable since the tall blonde did try to sabotage their relationship before. Tsukishima can't help but stare at Yamaguchi from time to time, especially in their class. Just losing track of time and the lecture as he does.

He doesn't feel the same toxic and possessive love that he displayed in the past. He was feeling something so much worst. Regret. He wanted to approach Yamaguchi too, like before, and maybe try to make things right but how? How can you make things alright, when you fucked it up so much before.

"Oh, sorry..." Yamaguchi nervously said when he bumped into the tall blonde on his way out of class. He quickly glanced away before walking ahead but then... 

"Wait!"  Tsukishima cried out, to which the freckled boy, who paused then turned to him. 

Yamaguchi just stared at him, well tried to, it seems he still feels a little uneasy. Both of them wanted to speak, to make things less awkward but the words just wouldn't come out. Why is it when you have so much to say, it's hard to fucking talk.

"Take care on your date." Tsukishima finally said.

"Oh, you know about that?" Yamaguchi chuckled nervously. "I guess Hinata was basically shouting it yesterday huh?"

Tsukishima can't help but sigh as he recalls how Hinata was calling it. "The shrimp still doesn't know what an Orgy is..." He said disappointedly."If he said it one more time I'm definitely gonna tell him."

"You know Suga-san and Daichi-san would be mad if you do right?"

"I rather have my senpais be mad at me than be embarrassed by that tangerine who mistaken Orgasm for Organ in his English exam."

The two shared a quick laugh after recalling that memory. Even for a moment, they seem okay. It felt like the good old days when they make fun of other people in secret. But the fact is, those days are gone. A reminder that they got when silence greeted them once the small laughter stopped.

"Well, hope you guys enjoy the day." Tsukishima scratched his nape as he averted his eyes. 

"Thanks, you too, okay?"

"Yeah." Tsukishima softly uttered, immediately turning around and walking away when he saw Kageyama and Hinata walking towards them. 

Hinata leaped as high as he can as he approached the freckled boy. "Yamaguchi! You ready!" The tangerine shouted before running ahead to see Kenma waiting by their school gate. The others were waiting for them too.

Yamaguchi and Kageyama just glance at each other. Which made the freckled boy grin in excitement while his boyfriend just let out a disappointed sighed. "It's can't be that bad. Plus we already promised." Yamaguchi intertwined his hand with his boyfriend as they walk outside. 

 "To be honest, I was being sarcastic when I said yes to that ORGY thing Hinata was talking about."  

Orgy. When Kageyama said the word loudly, every student in the vicinity turned to their direction, with a concerned and interested look. It didn't help that Kageyama practically shouted the word too. Good thing Yamaguchi was there to make sure his boyfriend tone down his voice a little. Wouldn't want the school to gossip about any orgies happening in the volleyball club. We can only dream. 

"I'm sure you wanted to go deep down." Yamaguchi smiled at his sulking boyfriend. "I mean, you even tied your hair too. You look really handsome with your hair up like that you know?" 

"Really? I borrowed that hair tie thingy from Asahi since he is using a new one." Kageyama scratched his red cheeks a little. "To be honest, I think his new one isn't great."

"For real, he looks way better with the man bun."

"Why don't we tell him the new one looks bad again?"  

"Because it will hurt his feelings!!! You know how Asahi-san is!"

At the corner. Asahi and Nishinoya were listening to the couple as they headed to the gates too. "I told you, babe." Nishinoya nodded his head, agreeing to every word his lowerclassmen just said.

"You guys are so mean!!!" Asahi cried out.

I personally like both of his hairstyles but I guess I'm biased since I love Asahi too! There's just something about manly, aggressive yet soft-spoken and gentle guys I find incredibly attractive. Also, they're surprisingly the most aggressive ones in bed. Fun fact. Not that I have a lot of experience with these types of guys... Just a random thing I saw on the internet.
