Put the Doc in Documentary

Start from the beginning

During the shooting, Dr. Yang performed emergency surgery on a colleague at gunpoint.

That colleague was Dr. Greys husband and Dr. Shepherds older brother.

"Uh, sure, going through something like that, it's brought us closer."

"Not that we weren't close before. I mean ask anyone, we're close," Meredith adds.

Ivy chuckles, "I wasn't as close with them, but, uh, my person was killed... then so we've been helping each other as much as we can. Plus, I live with Meredith a few other doctors."

Cristina smiles at her, "So, uh, yeah, it's brought us closer. For sure."

"He needs a thoracotomy," Meredith calls.

"Right. Right. Right," Cristina turns away.

Ivy informs, "O-2 sats dropping."

"I'll alert the O.R."

"Where's the A.B.G?"

Ivy is then called away by Callie to help with the double arm transplant. She quickly gets the gown and gloves off.

Ivy is the one to meet with the donors wife because she is the best with patient care. She puts the form in front of her and talks calmly and explains throughly.

After she got the signature, she joins Mark, Derek, Owen, and Callie in the hallway with the cameras.

"Yeah, Ivy here is one our best residents, especially with patient care," Mark brags.

"I've just found that being calm and upbeat helps most patients and their families then stoic and quick. The best thing for a surgery is a calm and happy patient," Ivy blushes.

Ivy then goes and meets Mrs. Waldman, the donors wife, outside the hospital where she's doing her interview. She doesn't say anything, but she just holds her as she cries. Ivy doesn't move until the wife pulls away, giving her a small smile.

She quickly runs up to meet with the attendings to discuss the surgery.

"See that?" Owen asks.

"That could be a problem."

Ivy suggests, "What if we try a bypass instead?"

The attendings think about, "Mm."

*Marks POV*

They just finished asking me about Derek, now about Ivy, "Ivy? She's the little sister I never had. I was the fun brother while Derek was the strict one. When I heard they both had been shot... every day, we give bad news to patients. We tell them their loved one are hurt... or dying... or dead. And for the first time in my life, I understood what that feels like. It feels like *bleep*."

*Back to usual POV*

"No, no, you're thinking like a nerve guy," Mark tells Derek.

To which he sasses back, "I am a nerve guy."

With Mark talking over him, "Goes blood supply, then nerves."
