"Dude, I am ready to do this!"
Eddie walks in shouting like a mad man,
he can't stop talking about how he is going to pop the question tommorow,
I can't believe that he is ready for this big step,
He is so young and yet he is ready to tie the knot and be with one person for probably the rest of his life,
I haven't really achieved anything in my 20 something years on earth but I know that even if I did, committing to someone would be the last thing on my mind.
"I kinda wish I could do the same with Minnie"
Noah sighs
"But her mum doesn't even know me yet"
Noah hasn't met with Yasmin's mum, yet
He wants to but she is not ready,
Yasmin is afraid of her mother, she is a conventional woman, a devout Muslim and she doesn't think she'll relate well with the likes of Noah, he is a carefree person and he isn't exactly the most religious person, he doesn't even belong to any religion, he just does as he likes and sways wherever his heart wants him to.
"You Davis?, No offense but you don't seem ready"
Eddie takes a sip of his coke
"You don't know that"
Noah narrows his eyes at him
"oh, sorry, it all just takes time bro"
he rephrases his statement
"At least you guys have got partners, I've got no one, no Sue, no Hail"
I join in the conversation
"Don't be too sure brother. Yasmin just told me that Hailey is coming tomorrow"
Noah smirks
"You're a gossip man"
I scoff
"He isn't lying"
Eddie drops the coke bottle on the kitchen counter
"And I am not a gossip"
Noah snaps his fingers dramatically
I roll my eyes at him and turn back to Eddie, he looks serious, he isn't lying, Eddie wouldn't lie about something like this.
It's been forever since I saw her,
Well, forever is actually five years
There isn't a single day that I don't regret what I did to her, how I hurt her and why I didn't fight her to stay,
even while I was with Sue, she was always on my mind,
The thought of Hailey filled the void I felt while I was with Sue.
"Okay, but it doesn't mean anything"
It's sad to say but it's true
"says who?" Eddie questions
"yeah, Eddie's right, says who?"
Noah concurs
"Do you guys know anything?"
I narrow my eyes at them and sigh
"She is over me, I am sure"
I walk out of the kitchen
"Hey...calm down"
Eddie says as they follow me out
"Bro,if she's not into you, make her fall for you all over again"
Noah falls on one of the couches
"It's not as easy as you make it sound Noah, it's up to her to even talk to me"
I sit beside him
"well, just give it a try"
Eddie joins us
"I'll just try" I whisper
"forget about me, what's the plan for tomorrow"
I change the topic.

It's the D day,
M.j is turning a year older,
Eddie is proposing,
And Hailey is coming.
I can't stop thinking about what she looks like now,
I wonder if she still has her gold locs or
if she finally tinted it or cut it like she told me she would,
I wonder if she still talks the same, laughs the same and smile the same,
I wonder what she'll wear, I wonder if her style has changed
But most of all,
I wonder is if she will even talk to me,
I have been thinking for so long that I didn't notice the day run by.
"Guys, this house needs to be sparkling, it's evening already and the party is starting by 6pm!"
Yasmin runs around the house yelling orders at us
"yes guys, what she said!"
Eddie backs her
"You're not serious Eddie, do you even still have the ring?" Yasmin asks
"Of course I do, I'll die if I lose it, it costed a fortune!"
Eddie exclaims with his hands up in the air
"yeah, I am sure he borrowed a lot of cash for it" Noah laughs
"I did not, I used my hard earned money to buy it, the same way I did this house Davis"
Eddie snorts
Eddie got back into car racing but as a professional this time and he has earned alot of money from it and M.j helped a lot in supporting his dangerous passion.
"Yeah, thanks a lot Walker"
Noah jabs him in the shoulder
"Wait, Noah Where's the ring"
He tosses the throw pillows around in search of it
"I don't know that"
Noah laughs
"Come on Davis"
He almost strangles him
"Noah give it to him!"
Yasmin yells from upstairs
"Guys listen to me!, Mr and Mrs Montes can distract M.j for only an hour , I don't want this to fall apart, so please move!!"
Yasmin commands and we run in different directions.
