Athena's pov:

"What's wrong??" I ask concerned as of why Jayden looked so distraught. "Um uh just stay in here ok"he told me hesitantly as he quickly walked out the door closing it behind him.

I wanted to go see who that was but I'm not going to lie I'm too scared and Jayden did tell me not to leave but what if it's about me. Plus I need to know what Jayden was going to say before he got interrupted.

"I mean one peek wouldn't hurt right?" I ask myself. "Fuck it" I say before very carefully reaching over to the sides on the wheelchair and releasing the brakes.
I put my hands on the wheels of the chair and I start moving towards the door.

As I reach it which it's not that far but considering I've never pushed myself in a wheelchair and I just had surgery it felt like it took 40 years to make it.
I rest my hand slightly on my stomach where the heating pad is.

The pain killers finally kicked in so I'm not in as much pain as I was plus the heating pad is helping a bit.I slowly grab the door knob and open it ever so quietly hoping it doesn't creak.

I can hear multiple muffled voice talking in the distance. I look into the hallway seeing nobody is there. 'It's now or never' I think to myself before wheeling myself out the door.

As I near the end of the hallway the voices can be heard more clearly. As I get to the end of the hallway I slightly peek my head out and look around to see if I see anyone. Thankfully I didn't see anyone.

The voices are way more clearer and I can make out things the were saying so I start listening closely. "What are you doing here?!" I hear Andrew's voice hiss out and he sounded pretty damn upset.

"Be quiet before she hears you!" I hear Jayden Sneered back at Andrew's words. 'Are they talking about me?' I thought to myself . "Well that doesn't mean explain why's he's here" Andrew
quietly snapped back at Jayden. "He's here because I asked him to come." I hear Giovanni say.

'Who the hell is he??' I questioned myself once again hoping they give a name or something. "YOU WHAT?!" I hear Jayden and Andrew whisper-yell angrily.

"What you aren't glad to see your uncle" I hear that deep cold voice say sending a shiver down my spine. 'That's what they are so angry about their uncle!' I think to myself rolling my eyes.

"You are not our uncle after what you did" Jayden spits at the man who's their uncle I assume. 'Oh that's why they have a problem with him' I think to myself. "Ok enough Giovanni why did you call him?" I hear Serena say. "We need his help" Giovanni says

"For what?! To get someone else killed!" I hear Andrew yell "Andrew shut the hell up!" I hear Jayden say again. 'Wait killed??' I think frantically "How about you all be quiet so I can explain" I hear Giovanni say

'Finally so I can understand what the hell is all this about' I thought "where's the girl?" Their uncle says "where she is is none of your business" Jayden snaps "that's the reason your dear brother called me here in the first place" their uncle says "you what?!" I hear Serena, Andrew and Jayden yell

'"Look me and Uncle Marco are going into the office to talk go check on Athena" Giovanni says sternly then I hear feet walking on the hard wood floors

"shit" I softly mutter. I start wheeling back to the room as fast I can. I make it closing the door softly behind me. As I get to the spot I was originally in before Jayden stormed out the room I get a knock on the door.

"Come in" I say out of breath and in walks Serena walks in with Jayden. "Hey you ok?" Serena asks "mhm" I hum out resting my hands in my lap.
"Your nurses are on their way back" Serena says I just nod.

"Um can I have my phone now?" I ask "I- um sure let me go get that" Serena says with a weird look on her face. "Are you good?" Jayden asks me as Serena leaves the room

"Hm yeah uh yeah" I say glancing over at him. "Can I ask something?" I say looking over a Jayden "yeah what's up?" He says "U-um do you guys know who shot me?" I ask my voice slightly breaking.

"Oh um no.. not yet but we're gonna fine them" Jayden says "so the police haven't done nothing.. typical" i say muttering the last part. "What do you mean typical?" Jayden asks "uh nothing" I say

"You guys it's lunch time" Serena says throughout the house. 'But what about me phone-' I think to myself. I look up to see my nurses walk into the room.

"Ready to go?" The brunette one asks getting behind my wheelchair. I nod as she starts wheeling me out the room. As we get to the enter the dining room I see Andrew Jaylen and Serena sitting down.

The nurses wheel me to an empty spot next to Jaylen. Then out comes a server that looks familiar I just can't put my finger on it. But he along with two other people bring out food.

"You probably cannot eat a lot so" Serena said as the severs placed a grilled cheese with a small bowel of fruit. "Hey you ok?" I whisper over to Jaylen but get no response.

As I went to pick up my fork I hear foot steps behind me.I look back seeing a very dark looking man walking in with Giovanni. I physically shiver at the sight of him as him and Giovanni take a seat at each end of the table.

I just study him as he prepares to eat. Then he stares me dead in my eyes making me look away in fear. "Oh this must be the girl" he says as we began to eat.
I just quietly chew my fruit."Has she no manners nipote" he says
[translation: nephew]

"Athena say hello" Giovanni says sternly. "She doesn't have to say hello to him" Andrew speaks up "remember your place sunny boy" their uncle says.
I just keep my focus down as I bite into a piece of my grilled cheese.

"Wow how must she have a part in the family's business when she shows no respect" their uncle says catching my attention making me look up.

"Don't" Jayden says in a warning voice. "Marco stop" Serena now says "what how must she have a part in the mafia if she has no respect for the more powerful" he says sternly. I choke on my strawberry.

Jaylen pats my back as everyone looks at me worriedly. "A who?" I finally say speaking up.
"Does she not know about the mafia" he says looking around the table of shocked faces.

"Shit"
