hey! this is another imagine where i'm reposting something i wrote for another fandom lmao i wanted to post but i've been having trouble writing so this is the best i could do. hope you enjoy :)

i'm in love. madly in love. there's no denying it, not when my girlfriend is sitting beside me, looking so soft and snuggly wrapped up in her winter gear. her tan beanie pushes her long, blonde hair into her eyes and even though i know it annoys her, i find it absolutely adorable. my girlfriend is absolutely adorable.

chaeyoung eventually sees me staring at her out of the corner of her eye so, without looking, she reaches a hand out and flicks my forehead. i whine at the pain, sending chaeyoung, what she has said is, a very ugly pout.

"you hurt me," i say.

"you were being creepy again," she teases.

"i was just admiring you because i love you."

"the whole world doesn't need to know, though."

"yes they do. there are some boys over there that seem very desperate to get your attention."

i look behind chaeyoung and glare subtly at the group of twenty-something boys who are giving the back of chaeyoung's head cocky and interested looks. chaeyoung chuckles and cups my cheeks, turning my attention back to her.

"do i need to remind you that i'm gay and very much in love with you?" she asks.

"yes please," i reply. chaeyoung rolls her eyes but leans in and quickly places a kiss on my cold lips. they instantly feel a lot warmer and i want to grab her to keep her in place but she quickly pulls back.

"i'm yours, remember? you don't have to worry," she whispers. i grin and lean in for another kiss but instead get a hand pushing me away.

"kiss me~" i whine.

"later," chaeyoung says. seeing me pout again, she gives in just a little and places her mitten-covered hand on my thigh, scooting closer.

we're waiting for the nightly fireworks to begin at disney. it's our 6 year anniversary so i figured we should spend it somewhere special and decided to take chaeyoung out to disneyland paris. only the best for the most amazing girlfriend, right?

——

it's 9:20pm and i know the fireworks are due to start in a few minutes. i notice that chaeyoung has dozed off on my shoulder, what a cutie, so i prepare the special part of our evening. after quickly fixing chaeyoung's scarf that was starting to slip off her shoulder, i dig around in my pocket until i find the ring i hid earlier.

about 6 months ago i decided that i'm going to propose to chaeyoung tonight. i figured 6 years of being in love equates to a good time to promise to spend the rest of our lives together. there is no way she is getting rid of me now. with the help of mine and her families, i picked out a ring i know she will love and now all i have to do is hope she will say yes. she will...right?

——

there's two minutes left now so i gently shake chaeyoung awake, grinning when she stares at me sleepily.

"don't want to miss the fireworks," i say. she mumbles in agreement and stretches, her jacket riding up just enough to give me a nice view of her soft skin. an obvious shiver runs down her spine at the cold weather so i grab an extra blanket and wrap it around both of our shoulders. i have the ring in my left hand, in my pocket, so i take chaeyoung's with my other. i slide her mitten off so i can lace our fingers together then bring both of them into my pocket. i can feel mine shaking and i instantly know that she can too.

"you okay?" she asks. i don't get nervous very often so she's definitely confused and worried.

"excited for the fireworks." it's barely a lie, i am very excited. chaeyoung smiles, luckily believing me, and lays her head on my shoulder again.

——

i'm counting down now.

there are 30 seconds left.

i want to propose just as the first firework goes off. i pull my hand with the ring out of my pocket and take a deep breath to try and calm myself.

15 seconds.

i know i want the proposal to be quiet and private, as chaeyoung would want it that way, so i don't move to get on one knee, i just stay exactly where i am. my nervous shaking has increased now and i can see chaeyoung getting even more confused.

5 seconds.

i hold the ring out for chaeyoung to see and barely have enough time to say "will you marry me?" before the first firework lights up the night sky. my attention is captured for a second but chaeyoung's remains on me, eyes and mouth open wide at the sight of the ring.

"(y/n)," she whispers.

"i love you, chaeng," i say, "i've loved you for 6 years now and you're the only person i can imagine growing old with. i want you to be my wife, i want us to start a family and live long and happy lives together. will you marry me?"

chaeyoung's eyes are glistening, that's all i can see as the sky glows different colours.

"yes," she whispers. "oh my god, yes, i'll marry you."

i slide the ring on her finger and lean in to rub our noses together, all while grinning and crying like a maniac.

"i love you," i whispers.

"i love you, too," she replies. she cups my cheeks and, hiding our mouths, places several kisses on my lips. when she pulls away, she lifts my arm onto her shoulders and snuggles into my side. we sit in mostly silence as the fireworks continue, just content to enjoy our first moments as an engaged couple.

——

once back at the hotel, chaeyoung and i climb into the bathtub and i hold her against me, her back pressed against my chest.

"so," i say, "did you like my proposal?"

"i really did," she replies.

"good." i runs my fingers through her hair and press a kiss on the side of her neck. "lisa was going off and telling me how 'she's gonna think it's dumb' and 'she won't say yes, you idiot' so i was kind of worried about how you'd react."

"no, babe, it was absolutely perfect!" chaeyoung turns around and holds my head gently in her hands. "you know i don't like extravagant things that draw attention to myself so the way you did it was perfect. it was just between us and that's the way i wanted it to be. you made it private and special and i love you for that. thank you."

i grin and lean in to kiss her again.

"i can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you," i whispers.

"me too, baby, me too," she agrees. we kiss again then chaeyoung cuddles up against my chest. i run my fingers through her hair again, gently massaging her scalp at the same time, and she eventually falls asleep in my arms. i smile fondly and press a kiss on her cheek, already imagining how perfect our wedding is going to be. i can't wait.
