Dean POV

We arrived at the restaurant and I pulled her chair out for her. She smiled at me and sat. The waiter came at the table and was staring at her. She didn't notice that he was so I cleared my throat. She looked up and smiled at him.

"Paul, hey"

"Hey Elizabeth"

"How are you?" He asked

"I'm fine and you?" She said

"I'm making it. Who is this?"

"This is Dean my fiancée" she said
I was surprised that she said that.

"Wow your getting married" he said with no sense of happiness

"Yep"

"Well I should take your orders but I'll be right back" he walked away

"He used to bully me in high school and I found out that he did it because he liked me. He told me himself and I told him no. He had hurt me too much for me to forgive him." she said

"Oh" I said

"But let's forget about that. Why did you ask me to dinner?"

"I actually wanted you to sign the papers of our marriage confirmation" I said

She sighed. "They really want us to do this." she took the papers from my hand

"It might not be that bad Liz. You keep your business and I keep mine. We just have to live together."

"What about your life Dean. Aren't you going to miss that?" She said

"I haven't thought about that"

"I just can't believe their still doing this"

I felt guilty."Fine we don't have to do it"

"But don't you want to keep your company?"

"I do but if that means your not happy then what is it to me?"

"No you built it up by yourself who am I to take that away from you because of our parents stupid decision."

I feel terrible.

"I'll sign it" she said taking out a pen

"Ok" I gave her the paper and she signed it

"I guess we're married then." she said

I grabbed her hand.
"Nothing has to change Liz." I reached into my pocket and got on one knee.

"Dean what are you doing?"

"Isn't this what you want?" I cleared my throat and the restaurant got quiet.

"I'm so glad that I met you. You are beautiful, smart, funny, and you make me happy. You mean a lot to me Liz. So what I'm trying to say is will you marry me sweetheart?" I opened the ring box to her.

"Awes" went around the room

A tear came out her eye and she looked around the room. She got up and ran out of the restaurant. I felt upset. Then some lady tapped my shoulder.

"Go after her" she said

"Thank you" I got up and pulled 100 dollars out my wallet and put it on the table and ran out. I saw her walking down the street in the pouring rain.
Her hair was soaked, her dress cling to her body, and her heels were in her hands. I ran to her with an umbrella and grabbed her arm. When she turned around her mascara ran down her cheeks.

"Why did you leave?" I said putting the umbrella over us

"Do you think this is some type of joke Dean? Because I don't think it's funny. I want the guy I'm in love with to get on one knee and propose to me, to kiss me when I say yes, to marry me in front of everyone. I know I sound picky but this is what I've always wanted and marrying you then its never going to happen. We don't love each other Dean. You like the thought of settling down and our parents don't care. They just want to crush us for their benefit. This isn't you Dean, your the player CEO that has a one time with women. Your ruining your life by being with me." she said

"Our parents called it off the day you went off on your mom." I confessed

She stood silent for a while.

"What? Why didn't you tell me Dean? Why did you continue this? Answer me Dean!" She yelled

"I didn't want to"

" You didn't want to? That's all you have to say" she scoffed

"I didn't want to call it off Liz. I wanted to be with you. I knew that if I told you. You would've drifted away from me. I didn't want that. I was fine with marrying you. Im sorry."

"What if I had said yes Dean? Would you have told me anyway?"

I stood silent.

"I can't believe you were selfish enough to overlook what I want in order to have what you want" she said

"I'm sorry Liz. I'm so sorry." I grabbed her hand

She shook her head no and walked away.

"Liz-"

"It's Elizabeth to you ,Dean" she walked away

I ran up to her and grabbed her elbow.
"Here" I gave her the umbrella, took off my jacket, wrapped it around her ,and kissed her on her forehead.

"Don't think I'm giving up on this because I don't want to" I wiped the mascara away from her cheeks and walked away.
