Chapter 26-Seperation

Start from the beginning

"Okay, what time?" I asked, sipping my tea.

"10:30" she said and looked down.

"Okay, be ready I'll drop you tomorrow at the railway station" I said.

"No no Akash it's fine. You shouldn't bother your studies for me. You've your campus interview on Monday" she said "anyways I'll book a cab and I know you concentrate well doing night hours when you study."

"What does it have to do with my studies? I know that I study at night but you'll be going in the morning right? Then definitely it won't bother my studies" I said.

She looked down and didn't say anything.

"Actually bhaiya, her train is at 10:30 PM" Kriti said.

Hearing her my blood boiled but I couldn't show her my anger.

"Sid and Kriti, please excuse us for 5 minutes" I said and took her with me to another side of the shop.

"What the hell is this Siya?" I asked, seething in anger.

"What?" she asked, still looking down.

"You very well know what I am asking about baby" I asked her with concern.

"Papa said that this train is good and is always on time" she said, not meeting my gaze.

I chuckled and cupped her face and said "you know baby, you are a terrible liar."

She immediately melted in my arms and circled her arms around my waist.

"Yesterday I called mummy and said that we have 15 days winter vacation. She first asked me to stay at hostel and said that there's no need to come home but then papa pacified her saying that the whole hostel would be vacant so it would be better if I also come home. Then he called me today morning and I heard mumma saying him to book the cheapest train possible. So papa booked my ticket in the cheapest train" she said and cried in my arms.

"She didn't even consider it that I would be all alone, in night" she continued.

I just stroked her arms and hair, trying to soothe her as much as possible.

"Am I not a good daughter, Akash?" she asked me sniffing and looked at me with so much hope, expecting like a child to give her a positive response and it would mean as if she got her favorite chocolate.

"Of course you are. You are the best daughter anyone could ask for" I said and kissed her forehead.

"I want a daughter like you, calm, mature, intelligent. You know if I get a daughter like you I'll be the happiest person on earth" I said.

"Thank you" she said, still in my arms.

"For what baby?" I asked, tucking a loose strand of her hair behind her ears.

"For always being there for me. For always believing in me" she said with sparks in her eyes.

"I'll always be there for you baby, even if you try to push me away, I won't ever leave you. You are stuck with me for your whole life baby" I said and she blushed.

"Okay then we should go now to both the monkeys" I said and she giggled.

We then went to the shop and spent some time together.

"Be ready baby, I'll pick you up tomorrow at 9:30" I said.

"But why?" she asked.

"Obviously to drop you at the station" I said.

"No Akash, it's ok, I'll manage, you don't need to get worried for me" she said.

"Come on baby, don't you want to spend some time with me before going home?" I said "anyways you would be gone for 15 days, how will I survive without you?"
