"They followed us!" Phil whispered.
The 6 guys had made it to the shores of North Oregon.
It was still dark.
"I have an Idea but nobody is going to like it."Zane said.
"Sewers?"Ben asked.
"Yes.There should be a sewer lid around here somewhere."Zane said.
"Everyone look!"Shawn said.
The 6 men looked and looked until Will found a lid.
"Hurry!They are coming!"Will shouted.
Robert went in first and then Ben and Phil and Zane.
Shawn and Will went in last and put the lid back on right after the PALS docked.
Killmore,Dallas,12 men,and the Boss walked around shining their flashlights.
"Sir!Why are we pursuing them?"Dallas asked.
"Oh yes,I never told you.3 of them came back positive."The boss said.
"Which ones?"Dallas asked.
"Phillip,Zane,and Robert.They are the only ones who can stop the fog in theory."The boss said.
"Their blood's special?"Dallas asked.
"They need to get eliminated from the equation.They were always gonna die.Roberts little act just gave us a reason."
"That's intelligent."
"Very.I hope they don't find the 3 generators."
"So all of the mutated specimens were caused by the fog?"
"Precisely."
Dallas stared down at the dark concrete.
The boss walked away with the group and Killmore followed.
Dallas knew what they were doing was terribly wrong but he couldn't leave or else Killmore would track him down.
He feared Killmore.
Dallas feared everything.
"Let's go North!"The boss yelled.
The cluster of people walked away into the dark.
Zane led the guys out of the sewer and south to an office building.
They broke a window to get inside the lobby.
"It's colder than I remember."Will said with a shudder.
"If I'm right it's October."Ben said.
"I can't believe they kept us in there so long."Phil said.
"They did it for a reason but I don't know why." Zane said.
Will,Ben,Shawn,and Phil settled down and Zane talked to Robert in a office nearby.
"Robert.What happened?"Zane said.
"I don't know, I snapped."Robert said.
"You risked our lives."
"I...killed a baby.I feel awful."
"Why didn't you tell us your intentions?"
"I thought you would catch on.
"Until you go back to the man I knew,we can't be friends anymore.Not until you come back."
"Whatever."Robert said flatly while walking out of the office.
Robert was going to leave the group and go on his own the next day.
