The breakup

*Elena Pov*

I walk out of the Salvatores' house tears falling down my cheeks, my vision blurred as I bump into someone. I look up through my tears to see Damon. Looking at him made me cry more because it made me realize Stefan is right, I am in love with both of them. I feel Damons' hand wipe away my tears and tilt my head up so I am looking at him.

"Elena whats wrong" He ask

"Stefan knows and he broke up with me"

"What does Stefan know?"

"He knows that you and I kissed"

"Elena I am so sorry"

"I just want to go home"

"I can walk you there if you want"

"No. I could use the alone time"

"Ok well be safe"

*Damon Pov*

I watch as she walks away and it took everything in me not to scoop her up and give her a hug. The only reason I don't is because I know she would not want that right now she needs to be alone. Since I can't go and comfort her right now I am going to do the next best thing. I walk into the house anger radiating off of me I quickly look around the room and my eyes fine Stefan sitting on the couch with hiss head in his hands.

"Regretting something brother" I say

"Yes, not doing that sooner" he says as he lifts his head up

"What is wrong with you? Elena is crying"

"Why do you even care?" He ask me

"Because you are my brother" I say

"Oh now you consider me your brother so why would you kiss my girlfriend?" He ask

"Why do you even care you don't like her anymore you have your eyes on someone else"

In that moment like Clockwork Y/n comes down the stairs looking beautiful as always. I understand what all the fuss is about she is pretty amazing but me and her have always just been friends.

"Speaking of someone else" I say

At the mention of her he perks up, he gets off the couch and walks over to the end of the stairs. Y/n gives both of us a warm smile which we both return.

"Well hello Damon I haven't seen you around the house lately" she says

"You probably haven't seen me lately y/n because you haven't been here" I respond back

"Speaking of that Y/n where were you last night and this morning" Stefan ask

"Always the nosy one aren't we Stefan" she says avoiding the question

"Now this sounds interesting where were you Y/n" I say jumping onto the new topic

"Not you to Damon, you Salvatores always hated not knowing everything" she says trying to avoid the question again

"Y/n why are you making this such a big deal just tell us" I say

"I think I know where she was" Stefan says

"If you know Stefan why are you asking" she says getting annoyed

"I was just hoping it wasn't true" Stefan say vaguely

"Well do share brother" I say actually getting curious in the conversation now

"She was Klaus' overnight guest" he says 

"Well this just keeps getting more interesting, so tell us is he good in the sack" I say as I grab a glass of bourbon

"Really Damon you are disgusting" She says

"So you aren't going to deny it" Stefan says in disbelief

"I can't deny the truth Stefan" She says nonchalant

"Why Klaus are you compelled or something" Stefan ask

"No Stefan I am not compelled, believe it or not you were not my first boyfriend" she says acting like she did not just drop a bomb

"Wait you and Klaus dated! When?" Stefan ask

"Yes we dated and you guys know how much I love 20 questions but I have to get going" She says as she walks over to the door

"Where are you going" he ask

"Out" She says as she swings open the door

When she shut the door I look over at Stefan, I can tell he is hurt by her words but i don't think he will let her go that easy.

"Well are you going to just let her get away? Go after her Stefan" I tell him

"She made her choice" Stefan mumbles

"Show her she made the wrong one" I tel

"Are you just doing this so you can be with Elena" he ask

"No brother you deserve happiness" I tell him truthfully

"So do you brother" he says before flashing out of the house
