"I have to admit, today was a lot of fun." Eric admitted as they walked to his car. "Yes, it was. I was worried there for a bit, but you pulled through." She teased him.

"I cannot believe you made me hold a snake." "I cannot believe you did it. I wasn't sure if you were going to puke or scream." "I am a grown man." "Yes, you are." She winked. "I am not afraid of snakes." "Sure looked like it. Should we check the photo?" "Haha." He pushed her arm.

Lily checked her phone again, and her worry grew some more. "Still haven't heard from him?" "No, and I am really worried." "Text him." "I will wait a little longer." She slipped the phone back in her pocket and he took her hand. It was warm and soft, and fit so well

"You drove the Vette." She smiled as they get to his car. "I was hoping I could take you for a ride." He suddenly seemed shy. "I would love to go for another ride. In the car." She grinned. "That is exactly what I meant." He gave her a tight smile.

"Hey Eric?" "Yes." "Not what I meant." She grinned, pulled open the car door, and got in as he laughed. He was too cute. She rolled down the window and waited for him.

"You can never be serious, can you?" He chuckled as he got in. "I can, but why?" "What do you want to do for dinner?" He shook his head as he started the car and looked at her while he giggled.

He revved it a little and she threw her head back laughing. "That's better." He reached over and on the flipped on the radio, turning it up. "I'm impressed." "So am I." He pulled out of the space shook his head.

As they went down the highway, he reached over and took her hand. "Dinner?" "Yes." "With me?" "Yes." "Just us?" "Yes." "Ok." He squeezed her hand.

"Let's get friend chicken and go to your make out spot." She giggled. "I was thinking somewhere nicer." "Why?" "I enjoy nicer places." "I enjoy picnics and greasy friend chicken out of a cardboard bucket on a tailgate or in your case, a blanket."

"Can we compromise to something preferably with chairs and a table." "Fine. How about Louie's?" "Not familiar with it." "It's a great place. All kinds of food and usually awesome music on Fridays. We can go how we are."

"Do you want to go home and change?" "Is there something wrong with the way I look?" She glared. "Not at all. In fact, I would be rather pleased to see you stay in that all night long." He pulled her hand to his lips and she was shocked silent as he kissed it.

"That's the fun of hanging with me. I just do what I want, no need to change or be fancy." "Fancy is not all bad." "I did fancy last night." "And you did it so well." "Thanks. So, did you." She leaned back and relaxed. Baby steps, she reminded herself, for both of them.

"This is where you want to go?" Eric looked at the place through the windshield. "Yep." "It's not what I would call classy." "It's not. You will love it. Out." She opened her door just as her cell rang. Finally.

"It's David. Hold on." She informed Eric as she stood at the car. "David, are you ok? I have been worried sick." "Hello to you too. I am fine. No reason to worry." "How bad?" "Nothing I want to discuss." "And that tells me all I need to know." She exhaled and closed her eyes, hoping he would be ok.

"I am not going to be back until late. I am sorry." "It's ok. You can just wait until tomorrow to drive back." "How about I keep you posted?" "Alright, but you are not driving in the middle of the night." "I will if I want to." He growled. "Stop that." Closing her eyes, she exhaled.

"Did you at least have fun after I left?" "Yes. Eric entertained me to the best of his ability. We fed the goats and did the children's area, even got him to hold a snake." She said proudly. "The suit held a snake?" "Yes." "Wow. He must like you." "I think so." She looked up at Eric and got a wide grin in return.
