"payton jay moormeier" ellie shouted as joanne let her through the front door. they were all back and settled in from the south carolina trip. it was the 21:55 to be exact, on the night before ellie left for sway.
"yes" came a tired reply
payton was in bed and drifting off. he was in his phone playing some games but eventually found himself tired and decided to try to sleep.
"i leave tomorrow and i haven't posted for five days on insta and you are literally my best photographer everrrrrr, sooooo you know what means!!"
"pics?" guessed the boy who was rolled up in the blankets.

"you sure you wanna take the pictures outside?" inquired payton as he surveyed the surroundings from the window.
"yep, just out in the driveway"

"ooooh yes" hyped payton as ellie posed for the driveway pictures. she was seated on the gravel and was really enjoying taking these pictures. payton always made things better. his whole persona radiated happiness.
"gotta be quick with rendering these now" laughed ellie as she rushed up to paytons laptop and started the whole long process of getting the pics ready.
a thirty minute wait and the pics were finally done. that was a struggle.
payton watched from the other side of the room as ellie captioned the post.

"i'm gonna miss you payt" sniffled ellie. she was more upset at departing payton than she thought she would be. she really was gonna miss him.
"i'm gonna miss you too el but enjoy yourself ok?"
"i will." she smiled a shy smile.

"flight 7097 departing from charlotte douglas international airport and will be arriving in lax airport boarding now" could be heard over the announcement intercom.
payton and ellie shared one last hug as el rushed off to board the plane.
payton turned around and quickly headed off to his car. he didn't even realise he was on the verge of tears. wow. he really was gonna miss her.
